lol well thats cool navy was my second choice but im just waitin on them to tell me my job and when i go to basic i hope it doesnt take long |
The Navy flies planes too! God Bless you in whatever branch of service you go into. it's all good natured rivalry and professional courtesy. Be the best, lead by example, never whine. what sits on your sleeve or collar ain't what gets respect. respect is earned every day by the one standing behind the rank. tackle every dirty job to the best of your ability cuz someone else did before you, look sharper than the rest, square away your uniform better than the rest. make your superiors remember your name in a good way. it will pay off. |

I think that is advice for life in general, whatever job we have, given or by choice, we are to meet the challenges with the same ethics and positive frame of mind to be the best. Being the best doesn't mean stepping on others on the way up. And the only time you should be looking down on someone is when you are reaching down, giving them a hand up. And at night, when you can look at the mirror, and know that you can look at yourself with honestly and sleep well that night, you did a job well done.
Don't let others "discount" you by your job description. Don't let your job define who you are, but make an impression of who you are while you are on that job, that you were the best at it and they associate YOU with that job in the WEBSTER'S Dictionary. Take Pride ONLY in what you do, show up for work early, show up clean. Keep showing up in a good way. Don't just Show up - show off !!!! Don't forget the details, whether it be in taking time or putting in extra effort. Which means, did you tell someone you appreciated their help today? Did you complimement a co-worker and give a morale booster? Did you tackle a task that no one else wanted to and you solved it or put it to a close? Do something and go beyond the norm, don't be measured by mediocrety. Smile. Smile at people. Kindness pays, generosity pays, empathy and sympathy pays. Gratidude pays. Pay it forward. Reap what you sow, but don't look for it. DO THIS NO MATTER YOUR GENDER, YOUR RELIGION, YOUR RACE, YOUR I.Q., AND YOU WILL BE NOTICED. Pretend every day someone is going to read your eulogy. What are they going to say about you? Are you afraid you already know the answer? there's still time to change that. |
