I found out yesterday about Webb. I am still in shock! David was a great guy and working with him in Iraq to sitting on the couch telling bullshit stories have always been fond memories to me. David was my spades partener too, we would sit around smoking a black and mild coming up hand signals so we could beat Malo and Hinkson, I dont think that ever really happened though. David, you will be missed my so many people, I love you bro and I will be seeing you again. Semper Fi. 8th Engineers, Charlie Company, Equip Plt. 3rd squad.

Well Webb, I havent been able to honestly write what I am feeling. When I heard the news jsut a few days ago I was shattered. I couldnt believe you were gone and on top of that none of us got to say goodbye. You were like a little brother to me. You would call me all the time and talk about problems you are having and it seems I always had the right answers for you. I remember you calling me around the time of your death, you were mad about having to go back. We talked for hours that night. You called and sounded depressed but when we hung up hours later you were motivated and back to being the Webb I knew and loved. Benton and I were watching all the video I took in Iraq and I can honestly say I would do anything to get hit in the nuts by you one more time, haha. Well, I can't write a book here so I'm just going to say that I love you brother, I'm sorry we all didnt get to say goodbye. It was an honor to serve with you and to be your friend. Keep watch over us devildogs and we will see you when we get there. By the way...How's your balls? Semper Fi.
If someone from Dave's family reads this and is willing to contact me, please email me at [email protected] Although I do have numbers to contact his family I wish not want to disturb them. I do have video and pictures of Dave while serving and I am more than willing to share them with anyone. Thanks!

I just found out today about you David and I am shocked. The last time we spoke I never thought it would be our last. I remember how happy you were to be getting out and you were trying to do the NYPD and you had succeeded. I remember when we were LCpls over there in Al Asad lol... You are going to be greatly missed and I know you are watching down on all of us. My condolences go out to the family. David was a great man and is going to be missed dearly.

Im a Marine currently serving overseas for the 3rd time in my 5 years so far in the Marine Corps. I read about Corporal Webb and his ultimate sacrifice. I sometimes notice that we as a nation quickly move on after this and its just not right. I gre up on in Jefferson Township (Lake Hopatcong)i spent my whole child hood living on Ellen Rd. and going to Ellen T. Briggs. So with that, it hits me harder because thats my hometown. Though I havent been their since June of 1995, I always think about Jefferson Township to this day and wonder how it is. I really want to visit the memorial they have set up but I havent had any time off to visit considering i dont have family located in Jersey anymore. I would love to visit sometime. if anybody wants to comment on this blog, please write me back anytime,

Dave was my oldest cousin and the closest thing to an older brother I've ever had. It took 16 years, but Dave and I finally bonded - and then he was gone. I love you Dave and I know you are in Heaven, even if you didn't think you deserved to be there.

I don't even know who this person is but can see from all the posts that he was a very loved and respected person and will surely be missed by many. I want to thank you from the bottom of my American, appreciative heart for your service and dedication to this cause for your fellow Americans to live the way we want to live!! Our freedom and safety is solidly intact due to you and countless other young men and woman who bravely march into battle so that we may work, pray, live AND die the way WE want. I weep for your loss as your family weeps and smile for the joy you must have experienced for when you finally met the Lord and for the tears our Lord cried not by your death but from the ecstasy to finally have his child back in his arms.
God bless this family and thank you again for your unconditional willingness to put your immortal life on the line for millions of individuals that you never even met. It is a sacrifice that is only offered by a very special person.

What metally desturbed news editor would post a story fron 2007 causing further pain and suffering to David Webb's family?

NO ONE re-posted anything this is just a forum that was set up when this first happened and it lay dormant till now. People are still sporadically coming on here and sending their well wishes and words of condolences to the family and i think that's nice! Just because someone wants to write and reach out to them with their memories or feelings of sadness and longing for that person doesn't make them guilty of bringing back a sad memory... the family will always know what they have lost and no one will ever be responsible for reminding them of that because then that means his memory will be gone completely and we never want anyone to forget our lost loved ones. Your kind to be concerned for the family but no one is trying to cause any further pain for them. The pain was inflicted the day they got the news.God bless!!

No, this was first posted in 2007 and the man was from Jefferson. Some anti-military nutjob topix editor posted this again to bring hurt to David's family. If someone wanted to remember David in a respectful way, they would hold a memorial service. The reposing is one of those sick Westboro Baptist Church attempts to slam our military and their families.

I didn't know David Webb. I am, in fact, years and years older than him. But it's a well known fact that all Marines, down through the ages are brothers. So, it is in that spirit and setting that I will mourn his passing.

Semper Fi, brother; rest in peace.

It's been years since you have been gone, yet you still hold a spot in my head and heart. I miss you man. I was reading through my old files from the Corps and read one of your quarterly reviews I wrote out for you. I remember you read it and smiled that Webb smile and commented that I wrote as if you were running for President... another time we were PTing in Al Asad and the pace I had the platoon wasn't fast enough for you, so I had you go give Bramlett who lagged far behind a high five and report back to me, well you did it and came back with that Webb smile and told me.. "Bramlett says hi!!". That Webb smile got you out of a lot of stuff man. The lil video we made with Mamac, Piskoun, Ramey, McMillan and Yeddy in my barracks room, The Talk Show.. I watch it often, that was a crazy night. We all miss you man, you had an impact on a lot of jarheads. Ima wrap this up, just wanted to let you know i was thinking of you. Love ya Webb! Semper Fi.

"How do I say goodbye to what we had?
The good times that made us laugh
Outweigh the bad.

I thought we'd get to see forever
But forever's gone away
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday."
