I am a close family member of one of the victims and am extremely upset over the entire situation. My thoughts and payers go out to all the other victims who have been affected by this, and I hope any other victims have to strength and courage to come forward, so this sick and horrible excuse for a man will NEVER get out of prison and hurt anyone EVER again.

What is ridiculous is how easy they could have found checked him out. I belong to a nonprofit that helps kids. Before anyone goes near any children, they pass an FBI fingerprint background check. What is more, if someone does have bad intentions, being told they have to pass such a background check scares them off.

No, YOU are missing the point. I think we are ALL in agreement that pedophiles are sick and should die. But this stance of him not being gay because these were children and not adults, is ASSININE. Why are you saying the BSA is stupid about pedophilia? It has no connection to what I wrote. Teh BSA requires 2-deep leadership. They require youth protection training for all leaders. They have a series of videos for all age groups of boys as well as leaders, so everyone knows what to watch for and to avoid situations that could be mis-understood or allow something to happen. What other organization goes to such lengths to protect the kids in their care? But there are idiots everywhere, and not everyone follows the rules. You can't idiot-proof the world. But if the first kid would have spoken up, it would have been over years ago.
