Something smells rotten here. If this "group" manages to get the funds to buy the theater, how long before they'll be looking to the taxpayer with their hand out? If the venue can't make money as a theater or arts center, then the private sector should be allowed to change it into something that will

I would hope that there are some things that do not have to be " dollor" wise and just nice to have around.

Well, I'm sorry but there are Too many Delapidaded Buildings in thie Town and Whole area as it is..and I bet it wouldn't pass Building codes ..

and we have more than too many places NOT on our Tax Roles as it is..

Now you want to Raise the $ to Do those 1 things? Then Be my Guest..

Living in the past is one thing, that is what we have museums for.. but You look at Downtown LG and it's a Mis Match of Old and Newer buildings and I think it's too late to try to keep it in the past..

It should have followed in the footsteps of some Illinois Towns , Like Long Grove, Illinois..

LG has to decide wether it wants to remain a Seasonal Resort Town or a Yr Round Town, it can't do both..

Although it's sure trying hard to be..

With the price of Gas and High Unemployment in Illinois? And the Economy the way it is?

I wouldn't be expecting a Normal Season this yr either.. It can take several More Yrs for those Good Old days to return..

and the way so many of these 'Summer -2nd Homes' and many Yr Round Homes are looking so Shabby? Many homes look like slums.. Let alone Unkept Lawns that are Weed Infested and over grown and un kept.

And Couldn't have Picked a Better time to have that Bridge Replaced.. at the rate it's going? It won't be done till the Fall, just in time for Winter.. Ruining several More Businesses..and costing the city alot of Loss sales Taxes and Business..

And some want to preserve a Old Theatre Building that should have been torn down 25 yrs ago? And what Pre tell kinds of Long term Jobs will that create?

Better decice to either make the Whole Street "Antique Lane" or Modernize it..
