Yes 4 Change thanks for the tip.(Did note the sources.)

It appears that the particulate matter (air pollution)posted under all these topics is dreadful: The mining near the Alberhill Ranch homes, the removal of "110,000" cubic yards of "material" stirred/hauled out near the Tuscany Hills homes, and the F & E project you mention... could generate a massive removal of "92,810" cubic yards of soil (AGAIN) near the Alberhill homes, in addition to the Auburn Lane homes, etc...!

Not desirable at all.

Interesting article below.

City councilwoman Melissa Melendez gets involved in the new stricter regulations on grading and hauling 110,000 cubic yards ... near her back yard, but when the 92,810 cubic yards (away from her residence) were discussed, she made no hesitation to regulate anything.

A bit self-serving.

Litigation was inevitable.

"Melendez said Wednesday she believes the thresholds adopted are not onerous."

"It's a good ordinance," she said. "It's not intended to cripple development or overregulate or make it overburdensome, but it is designed to protect the city's interests"

"Those interests, she said, include the community at large."

(Yeah, the "the city's interests". Yours.)

I wonder if any of this applies to me and my family, we live on the other side of nichols rd. in what was named country club estates (I think) years ago. It's the area between nichols and gunnerson. Seems to me we all should have been warned, just because you see a sign that says "Pacific Aggregates" doesnt mean you automatically understand the ramifications. Even with some college, I was not aware of the dangers of this silica dust.

"Residents pleased with Summerhill stop signs"

"The City Council approved putting up the signs in mid-October despite the city engineer's recommendation against doing so. City Engineer Ken Seumalo said that from a technical standpoint, there weren't enough pedestrians to justify the devices, but that the council could rule they are warranted because of the large number of children who cross there."

GUESS WHO LIVES IN THIS AREA ???

Just a tad bit self-serving....

Do they care for the Alberhill Ranch residents ? What about the precious children ?
What about the grandparents, the elderly ?
How about you ?

" 'We didn't move up here to live by a mining operation, and they're talking about extending this through 2010,' said Tuscany Hills resident Rick Morsch, a civil engineer whose property is within eyesight of the graded land and rock piles.'They've already been grading up there for two years, and now we're talking about a third year.'

Mayor Melissa Melendez said Friday that she hadn't reviewed the staff's report, but remained concerned about how the rock quarry issue was being handled. "

By the way, did you see that new sign across the ALBERHILL RANCH COMMUNITY PARK ? It reads:

DANGER
ACTIVE MINE SITE

Yeah, it's located across the ALBERHILL COMMUNITY PARK where you will find soccer fields and the likes. You bet, this same park houses the ALBERHILL RANCH CLUBHOUSE, home of the Boys and Girls Club of the Southwest County !!!
