cult (kʌlt)

n
1. a specific system of religious worship, esp with reference to its rites and deity
2. a sect devoted to such a system

So, yes they are, by definition.

What is so scary is that they are coming out now and trying hard to say that they are not what people claim that they are. They give these lame excuses of answers to what they call rumors. When in fact, they know what went on, what was and wasnt being taught there, and the control Meade had over these people.
The biggest thing is like in the other couple of topics on this subject are saying, is why now?
Why are they making themselves front page news?
I know that they are promoting that charter school.
I would never send my kid to that school. I would never subject my kid to a teaching that has a cult behind it, or a cult stigma around it.
This town has had enough of the cult and it did hope that when Meade died, which wasn't broadcast to the public until someone spilled the beans about it, the place would break up. That the cult would disband. But, sadly, the family is keeping it alive and well.
I do hope that they have changed their evil ways.
God is seeing all this, and I do believe that He(God) will, in his timing, shut these people down.

If this is what you call a cult. than every person who worships the Lord or anything for that matter is preforming a system of religious worship. So if this now applies to lets say about 95% of the world. Aren't we all cults by definition then?

I think a tight nit community that lives together combines their resources would be considered cult like. Put together that they also share same beliefes and worship the same. Hmm.

Not if they are not worshiping some man. If these tight nit people are just living in a group and sharing everything because it benefits them all then there isn't or shouldn't be anything wrong with that.
It is the group that gathers together to worship a man instead of God. The Meade Ministries worshiped Meade. Sang song to him like they would God. Were taught many things that are not in the Bible.
That is a cult.
If they have changed then great. But beware of them.
I know I am very curious to know what is up with them.
They crawled out of the woodwork for some reason.

Did anyone know that Mike Cady (one of the original 'end timers') is Principal of Belmont Academy (a new charter school in Columbia County)?

Mr. Cady is a very educated man. He has also worked in the school system for a number of years. I would trust him to teach my kids any day.
Why is religon such a problem? It should be what someone believes that makes them a bad person, but how someone preforms in their everyday life.
I have know Mr. Cady for a number of years now and he is one of the most kind and fair men I have met. I believe you could ask any person that has ever worked with Mr. Cady and they would say the same thing as I have. I am very happy for Mr. Cady and wish him the best in his new role as principal.

it is more than just a belief. Why can't anyone see the big picture here. These people were brainwashed by years of control by Meade.
I would never allow my kid to attend a school that was formed under a cult.
What is wrong with you people. You want your kids taught by someone like that.
Why is religon such a problem? Get real. If you were taught it is wrong to go to a doctor, sing praises to a man, not God, and have him dictate every aspect of your life, then there is no telling what is going to be taught by these people.
Go ahead send you kids there.
Hope they are smarter than their parents.

Really ?...... No Doctors???
I have been a part of this group for years,
I have been to doctors, I know of people who have gone to hospitals. I know, I do believe that the Lord can heal me from any disease on this earth, but I am not stupid, if I break my arm, I go see a doctor, I do not go every time I get a little headache or a runny nose. I have never heard that it is wrong to go see a doctor. And singing praises to a man instead of God? Now I am just confused.... Give me a song we sang praises to him over God. My life was never dictated in any way, as a preacher he preached the Bible and told his church what the Bible says and if it says in the Bible for children to obey parents, and the read that to us and he said to obey the Bible, is that what you call a dictator? I call that a preacher.

They sang we love YOU mr meade. Dont know the name but they were singing praises to him not God. I have never been in a church and I have been to many and is a member of one and have NEVER sang praises to the preacher, or any MAN.
And there are many recorded incidents where members of meade ministies members were not allowed to go to doctors and some have died because of it.
You will never convince the people that have lived around this cult since it began here that what meade did or that church taught isnt true.
If the church has changed, GREAT. Though many pray that it is, people fear that it isnt.
And when people ho have sent their kids to this school, other than your church members (remember the kids are supposed to be homeschooled but now have a school that you guys approve of)
start complaining about what is being taught to their kids(that isnt in the curriculum) dont try and defend it then.

It is pointless to argue and say one thing versus another.
There is no convincing one who is so convinced they know so much about Mountaintop Ministries.
As a member of this church, I say we have changed, and have proof that we have. What proof? Come and see for yourself, or just check out or website @ http://www.mountaintopministriesworldwide.com... or see one of our videos on Youtube.
You will see we are different, if you are unable to tell a difference, time will prove it out in the end

I have seen a couple of videos.
But I do pray that this place has changed. I really do.
But I am very learly of it and have a lot of reason to be.

What exactly is Mike Cady's education? All of his children have been home school educated. He has been a Herff Jones Rep for most of his adult life. That position is a salesman. It does not require a major degree in education.
He is now being paid and his school is being suported by the taxpayers of Columbia County in Florida. I thought he wasz ready for retirement so the people of the US could support him for the rest of his days.
I guess the entire county is under his control now.
