you are trying to pull hairs here. No one said that there was a situation. it was an if....
you are just trying to make a case where there really is none.
i do want to know the details of why that boy in live oak got out with a gun. that is interesting.
and the above case also. we want to know what happened.
what about the cops who shot the coach in california who had a starter pistol in his hand. had his hands up and said all i have is a starter pistol. he wasnt a threat to the cops and got shot anyway. i guess you can justify that.
what about the time cops busted into the wrong house and shot the people inside.
what about the cops killing a teenage by shooting him in the back 5 times while he laid on the street face down.
i could keep going because there are lots of them out there, but according to you. all police shootings are okay.
most cops are doing great jobs and most dont have to use their weapons. and that is great.
but there are some that mis use their power and they do make mistakes. and there are some dirty cops in this world.
you need to stop trying to put all cops in the same basket. that is all i am saying.

I was relating to the recent FHP Shooting. You are not right, about what you are saying. If you actually read my post you would would conclude I the entire post was reference traffic stops. Being the FHP incidence was brought up, in an earlier post. It was slightly off topic, but....It is good policing. I never mentioned a casual encounter on private property, or even a non-casual encounter. And I will not dive into the unlimited number of scenarios, to try and guess what I would do or some other officer should have done.
Mistakes are often made, but you should realize they are made within fractions of a second without much of a chance for consideration. We train and prepare our whole lives for ultimately one goal. To come home at the end of the day. But I will agree with you on one point. If you have an encounter with a Law Enforcement Officer, and you are armed with some type of weapon (weather innocently or with malicious intent) you odds of getting shot are much higher than if you were not.
Lastly, Any time any of us have to use deadly force, it is a bad day for all of us. It reminds us of what tomorrow might bring.

I don't know about this story but I do know if you point a gun at someone chances are you will be shot. So why did the police respond who make the call what was the complaint, I am sort of lost here, Concern for all those involved

The man had been beaten up. He got up and ran out of his apartment with a gun, it seems, to chase the man who hurt him. The cops saw the gun and fired. It isnt clear and the facts will come out at some point. I feel that the cops will say he pointed the gun. And, yeah I said say. Go to cbs47 news. I think that is the link. It is in here. And listen to the girl explain what happened from her side of the door.

Hey, you said it....He got up and ran out of his apartment with a GUN and CHASING the man who hurt him.
All I have to say is if the Police are called for a disturbance and they see a man chasing another with a gun, he might get shot, or he is more likely to get shot than if.....the man who hurt him ran out of his house he slammed the door, locked it, and yelled HELP, POLICE!!!! The man who just ran out my door beat me up!! I was going to chase him with my gun, but I actually took 2 seconds to think, and I decided to let you guys do your job!!
One man chasing another with a gun here!! Something stinks, The Truth must be known, The People need to know what happened here. I think it will eventually come out and then we will all know that someone was chasing someone else with a gun and got shot by the Police.

It takes one word to know if he was pointing a gun at the officers. That word is "Intent". An officer should be sure of that before firing. There was no "Intent" coming from Jeramey. He was just beat up by three guys, and was only holding the gun to protect himself until he knew they were gone.
Anybody who knows Jeramey knows that.
Jeramey didn't do anything wrong. He was the victim. The officer was in no danger.

That is what I heard also. It even sounds like he was just reacting to the beating. Now, he was wrong for picking up the gun, but you know, after someone gets the stuffing beat out of them, you kinda don't blame them for it.
This case has bothered me from the start. I know the truth will come out, if the truth is told by the cops. But from the minute I read about this, I said that boy was killed for no reason.
We didn't ask Randy any questions about this since he hadn't even had the funeral yet. It wasn't our place at that time. But I am truly wanting to know the truth about this shooting and the shooting that took place by the fhp.
I am also so shocked by the boldness of the cops that have spoken in this forem. It truly makes you wonder how safe you really are in Lake City.
What if you walk out your door with a cell phone in you hands and they cops only see part of it? Are you going to get shot?

Lynn, You cant take it personal what is said on these forum's. I truly believe most of the people who post on these sites as cops rarely are. I believe there are alot more trolls out there who just love to post. I am sure there are a few bad apples out there but I know the majority or our local Police are good Officers. They have a tough job and in my opinion do an outstanding job. A big Thank You for all our Officers for keeping the peace.
