I am not one of these people who expect anything in life free. I pay for what I have and work hard for it. The past two months have been really bad for us and I owe the school for my 7 and 8 year olds lunch. I have sent every penny I could and have kept in contact with them letting them know I would take care of it but will send all I can in the meantime. I owe them money and this bothers me but I can only pay what I have.
They sent a letter home today saying they will NO LONGER FEED THE GIRLS LUNCH! Now I pay taxes alot of taxes!
If I had the things needed to make them lunch I would but I just do not. I get what I need to fix dinner each night and breakfast in the morning and even then I stretch it far as I can as I just don't have the money. I am NOT on welfare of food stamps as I believe those are for people who have no job and need it badly. I am scraping by as best as I can but I work for what I have and it is not just handed to me!
How can I send my girls to school when they will not feed them lunch???????

Do you qualify for the free lunch program? Try to get them on that. If not, I really can't see how making pb&j would costs so much. You can go to the discount bread houses. There are 2 here in Lake City. I have been on very hard times myself and always managed to feed my childrem. There is food out there that you can send without paying a fortune. I do feel for you, and I pray you don't smoke. I have seen too many people that say they are flat broke and holding a cigeratte in their hand. So sad. Not judging, but there are answers. You might even need to move to a cheaper place to live. ETC. there are many options. I hope you don't have a cell phone. That eats up money.
Good luck and God bless

totally agree with 'hmm'. I was wondering the same thing...pb&j is cheap and good, kids love it. If your really working 3 jobs and can't afford a loaf of bread, then you may be eligible to apply for some sort of re-training program so you can find better paying jobs.
Also, you didn't mention a father on the scene...I hope you are receiving child support and if not you hopefully are pursuing action.
Here is a list of things I would eliminated if I didn't have extra money: cell phones, cable, cokes, starbucks, cigarettes, alcohol, fast food, manicures, hair appts.
Let me know if you need more suggestions.

I do not smoke and gave my cell phone up two months ago:)
I do not have hair appts and nails done nor do we eat fast food. Too expensive and what I fix is better for them. My husband does work he leaves ay 430 each morning and does not get home until 7 pm. Six days a week! I also work part time.
We have cut back ALL things we do not HAVE to have:)
Tough but we will manage:)
Thanks so much for the time you spent repling. That was so nice of you all:)

LOL I just saw how I spelled cigarette wrong the last time. Life is so hard and hard times hit. I know that this will pass. It is going to get worse before the world sees that government needs to get out of our lives and out of out wallets.
Just hang in. Hopefully the school system will take a better look at what they do and are doing to people. I homeschooled so get my kids out of this sorry school system. Lake City has gone downhill and I am going to get out of it asap.

This is the first year my girls have went to a public school. I home schooled them from the begining but they needed the social aspect I felt. I will be home schooling again next year:)
I have had more trouble with this school! My girls are very smart and they learn more at home than at school! The teachers seem like they just send the work home to be done anyways.

Your just looking for a hand out. I'm glad no one is falling for your under cover freeloading attempt. Get off your behind and do what you need to do and stop complaining and feeling sorry for yourself. Millions of families are facing hardships, not just you! Yet, they are making ends meet and doing the best with what they have and keeping their families together.
It's time out for the stunt your trying to pull. Get yourself together, or just go down to DCF and apply for foodstamps if you think your problem is to the breaking point.
Your an unfit mother if you allow your children to be humiliated and embarrased like that!

You know nothing about me. I would never allow my girls to be humiliated.
I would not even think of getting food stamps!
Don't judge me as you know absolutly nothing about me.

YOU GO!!! I Home Schooled my kids from 5th grade 10th and they do not regret it. I kept them involved in Church activities the whole time. They did go back 10th through 12th in a public school but I had several Christian teachers Watching over them. God is good.
I will say a prayer for you.
