just wondering how people feel about the school letting 7th and 8th graders going to prom. My daughter came home telling me about some girls that are going to prom who are way too young to be dating the 17 and 18 year olds at the high school. I think there should be a grade limit on who can go and who can't. This is just my opinion no need to get mad at me.

Most 7th and 8th grade students are to young to go to the prom. There should be an age limit!!

do not raise your kids by popular opinion, have your own ideas of what is right or wrong. it is up to the parents to set the age for dating, not school policy.your kids may get mad, but eventually they will understand. I was too slack on my kids and now I regret it. good luck

yeah i agree that a 7th or 8th grade student should not be going to the prom but it should not be up to the school to make such decision, it should be the parents, i cant believe that any parent would be ok with their son/daughter going to the prom at such a young at.....however if the parents cant seem to make a better judgement call on this then maybe the school should put a only 9th grade and above can attend the prom rule out there

there is an age limit no one under 7th grade can go to prom. Some kids in 8th or 7th grade are as old as some 9th graders and possibly 10th graders so it would cause some problems but i agree there should be a higher limit because some of these girls are way to young to be going to a prom.

I can say that my 7th or 8th grade daughter would not be going to prom, and I do believe that there should be an age limit- and it seems that the school has already established what it is. The decision is now up to the parents.

i think there should be an age limit myself because it isnt a jr. high prom. In my opinion the age limit should be 9th grade or higher and thats kindof pushing it but atleast most are mature enough but thats just how i feel about the situation.

you may want to get your info right, I know that there are 14 years going and they are dating 18 and 19 year olds. I think it is gross and the parents need to realize that these boys are future child molesters the way they are going. It is sick a senior has to go to the 14 years olds to feel good about them selves

It is the parent’s decision. Just remember when a child messes up, the public judges the parent & their parenting skills when there is only 1 person the parent & the child answers to: their god. Every one needs to be respectful of each and their decision. Being respectful doesn’t mean you agree. It means that you or anyone else is not perfect.

OMG!!!!so now it is open,WOW,jr.high girls get invited,to prom.and that is so bad we have to comment about it on topix, well hmmm, but it was o.k. for the classes of 1993 to 1994 to be pregant and I was one or those that was'nt but those kids that was raised so "GOOD" was pregamt, but that don't matter the point is don't matter how you raise your kids, they are going to turn out the way they are,but it does inspire them,on the raising./....so hope for the best.and pray that this school gets better hmmmmmm

Okayy now! All that i have to say is that EVERY single one of the 8th graders that went to Prom are like my best friends. And all of them went with FRIENDS not on dates!except for one girl and she is 15! This is pathetic, all you parents out here gossiping! Im in Riverside Jr.High school and yall are worse that us! GROW UP! If my friends parents want to let them go to prom with a FRIEND, then so be it! Every parent is differant. Sooo now, before you go around pointing your little fingers, you need to make sure your hands are clean.

I went to the prom when I was in 8th grade. My date was 17 and a Jr. As far as I know no one had their panties in a wad about us dating. My parents were OK with it. However, I didn't really get to date, date until I was in 9th grade. I was his girlfriend and it was only logical that I be his prom date.

It was fun and no one was damaged by it.

Of course things were much, much different back then.

Daily Horoscope for December 2

Capricorn

The Gemini Full Moon brings situations at work to a head; there may be a sudden event that shakes up the office, but you should be free and clear of any real trouble. The real issue is the one you have most likely been avoiding: what sort of state is your health in? Have you been buying larger pants each year for the past three or four years in a row? Is your idea of strenuous exercise scooping hard ice cream out of the carton? If so, it's time for some changes.
