Maybe if you "white people" took the time to invest as much money into LCB as yall are willing to do with the new LCB Academy then maybe you people might see some improvement.

Well, 2007 LCB Grad, you should have done a little research on the subject before you ran your big no-nothing mouth. In all of Calcasieu parish, more money was spent per student at LCB than any other school. Even the biggest and best public high schools in the parish, Barbe and Sulphur were over a $1,000 less, spent per student than LCB. When you have one of the highest absentee rates in the entire state of Louisiana, and a majority of students who just don't give a damn about learning, you will have a failing school. Oh, throw in a majority of the parents who don't give a damn about their child showing up for classes ... or, learning for that matter. And the white people had nothing to do with that. The taxpayer is shoveling out more money per student to a school that is failing miserably. LCH was closed ... that's logical. And the blame goes to the students and parents of LCB who just didn't care. I feel bad for the students who did show up for classes and excelled. They cared about their future in life, and want to better themselves. They will move on to other area high schools who are succeeding in educating their students. And, as for the students of LCB who didn't show for classes and could care less about learning ... I feel sorry for them, because they will struggle for the rest of their lives.

Lets me tell you the truth freddy. I am a causian and I have never been abused in any capacity by any so called foriener, negro, negros, or negroes, mexicans, or any other group that so-called does not belong here in your nation of caucasians. I have been cheated, lied upon, stolen from and abused by and only by caucasians. Your hate is from your own small little black heart and your corrupt mind. Will God only accept caucasians in his kingdom to come or will he reject those who hate others? Freddy, I would rather be one that spells incorrectly and does not hate instead of having good grammer but hates other races of people that the Lord has made. You are not superior except in your own mind. You have much to learn other than what school can offer you. And even after this you may still very well be an ASS. But, I hope this helps.

It is apparent that the Indians who were here first were not wise by keeping the illegals out of the country. This is the real reason why WO Boston has failed.

I was recently in Lake Charles and learned that my alma mater had been closed permenantly. Though I have the luxury of calling LCB an alma mater, I am most proud to have obtained a B.S. and an M.A. LCB had a profound influence on my educational background. While a student at LCB, there were always naysayers as to the prospect of attending and finishing college. As a result of my determination, I truly believe I was the first person of my class to obtain a college degree. I say this in earnest because many of my classmates subscribed to staying at home or fearing the prospect of leaving home would result in failure. I now see some of those same folks, both black and white still in Lake Charles with relishing the good ol' days. In regards to many of the comments made on this forum, I feel it is shameful to malign a group of people as a part of the circumstance. Firstly, you impart a great disservice to a people by referring to them as Negroes. If you know the classification of that term you would be surprised as to whom it should be directed. Secondly, when one contends to know a set of facts as opposed to another (i.e. dollars spent) you come to realize that they are really misinformed about the real reason a circumstance has occurred. I could really take the negative commentors on this forum to task, but I'll save my comments for the classes I now instruct at a historical college campus about the very undercurrent a certain element in our society.

"I Attended Reynaud!" I'm quite sure you understood EVERY word of nonsense that was written by your contemporaries, right? Isn't Reynaud a feeder school to LCB. And you wonder why folks talk about you. Hell, YOU don't understand english!!!

Young sir or madam. You sat in a classroom and had someone attempt to teach you the context in which you should use a certain word and it is painfully obvious that you are a moron by even being on this blog and by not having any first hand knowledge of the circumstance regarding LCB. Most horrific is you still can't comprehend english, capitalized or not!!!

Well,I graduated from Lake Charles Boston in 2005 with a GPA of 3.9 and now I am about to graduate college with a strong A average and a nursing degree. Then I will be attending graduate school to become a Nurse practitioner; oh and I am a black male so your racist comment are just ignorant. But I do agree with you that it is the fault of the parents and students but there are plenty of other underachieving children at every school, not just Lake Charles Boston. You totally blame a school for being bad when they have come out of schools like Reynaud not knowing how to add and subtract. So I also blame the poor school system for pushing these children through. In my four years at LCB I have met some really great kids its just to bad that people like you would rather put them down and degrade them instead of taking the time to address the real issues. And for all you black people, there may be some racial issues behind the school closing, but we dug ourselves into this hole and fueled the fire so we have no one to blame but ourselves for not handling our business. In closing people who have racist attitudes are the dumbest people in the world, there are people of all races that do good and bad so dont pinpoint one group because white schools like Barbe have had more drug related problem then any other school in Lake Charles. And the reason LCB Spends more money one every student in the fact that the school is so small so get your facts right before you make comments.

I am an original. I was a part of the class of 87...The first Class, and it was always about RACE...The school had racial tensions from day 1...The cherleaders went to cheer camp and were segregated the whole time...We worked it out the last few days and won Most Improved; but only to come home to more racism...and eventual segregation...Any time you take an all Black institution and merge it with a perdominatly white institution-race is going to play a factor. From the outside looking in I think it''s part of plan to clean up that side of town and restore it to some type of promenance...If you own property near there hold on to it...It's getting cleaned up, and that area will be prime property...Remeber OG said it

Okay! OG dont claim to be the first graduate of LCB because that class graduated in 84. You were probably there though. Your right the school was doomed from the start. Lake Charles high was 60/40 prior to the merger and then Boston came over. This caused white flight! most of the whites found other places to go. The Brain child behind the merger did not expect this. I started out at LCH and made life long friends from both schools. The kids and the parents are not to blame. The failure of that school rest soley with city and school board. They knew what would happen but did it anyway. When they closed LCB, they let alot of kids down. Lately its cause quite a stir at Lagrange and Washington Marion. I wonder why they didnt re-zone like they did in 1984. I guess they learned their lesson.

We can all say what we want. The students that went to LCB came from Barbe Elementary, Pearl Watson, and Reynaud. I am a graduate of LCB.(96'). My child went to Barbe Elementary and the things I saw there would make any parent who gives a hoot upset. My child struggled from day 1 but let Barbe officials tell it there was nothing wrong. I was informed by Barbe Elementary at the end of the year that not one of their 5th graders were held back regardless of their grades. That's a big part of your problem. You have a lot of teacher that teach at Barbe Elem. that are only there for the paycheck, becuae they feel all the kids that go there parents don't care. First it starts at home, then its elementary schools that don't give a hoot. Once they move on from there they are lost and if the parents and the next school does not focus on getting them on the right track, then what can the high school do? Let's leave the situation with LCB along and focus on the schools we have now and how we can make them better.

First of all I am a graduate of LCB and received a schoolarship to a major college and received a master's degree. I understand everyone frustration because this is the school we attended and loved. Those who came from all the other schools in Calcasieu Parish should understand no matter the circumstances. I am a parent of a 2nd grader and is doing well because of the teacher he has that really cares. That is the one of the main concerns in any school. The other is the parents of the students they play 1st part in the children lives if they don't help it is hard for the teachers to do they job and the parents who don't care. But it is hard to deal with the racial comments and attention as like in Jena, La. Noone wants to go through that so what we need to do in Lake Charles is come together both black and white and do something about our school system. One thing they always looked at Barbe and all mostly majority white schools but the are more problems from them than the other sourronding schools. So please answer me this question: Was is necessary to close down LCB or try to help them? I know i may have babbled but hopefully you understand.
