I think that if Obama's church, preaching hate the way they do - is entitled to a tax break - then we all should be.
I'm sure this guys services couldn't be anything worse that Rev. Wrights tirades. I wish I could be on the jury to give him a break and let the chaos begin. There is no reason or logic that churches should not have to pay property taxes. If god created everything - why in the world would he need a tax break? Defies reason.
Tax the churches - stop allowing for deductions to churches.

Maybe we should all agree upon a date to attend services. I wonder if we would be let in? Hmmmm, who is busy this Sunday?

Rich, perhaps, class absolutely none, this clown is the epitome of evil. Ask anyone who has had the misfortune of dealing with him or his joke of a real estate office or ghost town of a bank. Many will cheer when both are shuttered.

Can you just imagine if this sleazebag wins his case; every church-attending homeowner with a disabled relative will start holding "services" in their homes just so they can request tax-exempt status. It's sickening enough that REAL churches - many of which rake in PLENTY of dough ("non-profit" - HA!)- are exempt, let alone a bull **** ter like this guy.
I have a feeling that most churches (and no, I'm not very religious) do WAY more charity work than this guy, or anybody on this board right now.

That guys was just applying the principles of the communist manifesto. While I'm big on capitalism (I believe that harder workers should get bigger better rewards), ill managed, unfair capitalism (as this "church" guy was attempting to do), if left unchecked WILL lead to a great imbalance of wealth in this country to where the poor have nothing to lose in a communist revolution. Like I said, I don't EVER want that to happen so, yeah, I'm for cracking down on rich jag-offs manipulating the system.

Let's get real! He got a 80K break in taxes. How much was the tax bill? Was it a 150 thousand bill? The simple fact is that the tax man is raping the public, and no home in Lake Bluff should have a tax bill like that. He probably can't even sell the darn thing, as who in their right mind would sign up for that tax bill. How many children in public school must one house pay the cost? I understand, that he should pay his fair share, but that's a big share. Tax bills like that are not the norm across the US.
best idea

There is a point that was brought up in a previous article that was left out of this one. The tax burden that this guy is getting out of is going to be spread out to across his neighbors. If I were one of his neighbors I’d be furious.
I hope they get him for the $115k plus interest and court costs.
I think we should send a busload of Mexican immigrants fearing deportation to his church for sanctuary. HA!
Shut him down!!!!
That is the best idea ever!!!!

Are you immigrants hearing this? Why pass up a Lakefront Mansion for your sanctuary or asylum? The pool alone is worth the stay. The Feds fear rich people...which you would be surrounded by 24-7. Just show up law I think he has to admit you into his home AKA house of God. Word is he has a soft spot for non-caucasians.
