This undated image provided by the National Cave and Karst Research Institute shows a collapsed brine well near Artesia, N.M. State officials say a brine well in Carlsbad, N.M., has similar characteristics to this well that collapsed in July 2008.

find whoever profitted from mining the cavern out in the first place, offer to let them finance a solution. if they're reluctant to do so, run him and all his worldly posesions through a shredder and pump it all down hole till you get full reurns.

so true, however i think issues like this run with the land.... ie the previous owner is also 'on the hook'.... |
