I guess he needs more body-guards, and more detectives than the 13 he already has working on the Nuisance Abatement Team, the bird-dog of Albuquerque builders, developers, realtors, and private real-estate speculators. We need BETTER police officers, not more of them. We are spending MILLIONS every year to settle claims against cops that go wrong. This isn't a slam against all Albuquerque Police Officers, but they sure do seem to have a LOT of bad apples in their barrel. If we used the same standard for declaring a private home, bar or hotel/motel a Public Nuisance to the Albuquerque Police Department, we would have had to close down their location at 401 Roma NW just by the sheer number of crimes officers commit.

Stimulus funds NOT intended for additional police forces... Just more BS Democratic misuse of stimulus funds and purely re-election antics.

Thankfully our Mayor is responding to our needs. I think he may just pull of this third term yet.

I don't think more Police Officers are the answer to crime issues. I believe the mayor and council need to focus their efforts on economic development, job creation, education and job/career training. Why hire more cops to make more arests and fill the west-side jail. This becomes an even greater burned on the Tax Payer...

He promised this in his 1st term, never happened.
He promised it 8 years ago, never happened.
He promised it 4 years ago, never happened.
What makes you think anything different would occur this time around?

I interpreted it to mean that because we are receiving so much stimulus money for other areas, he thinks we'll have enough to pay for the increase. He's only bringing it up, though, because he's running....sigh....again!

If a politician is your idea of a hero, drink some more kool aid.

Obviously since you can still post, you haven't had enough yet.
