Did Carlson say that her mother had nothing to offer to her life growing up? If her mother had not, would she be trying to fulfill, her now passion, to give her mother her possible rightful name? I think you should learn how to NOT take things out of context and apply them in such a manner that could be states about your possible upbringing..it is really ignorant to judge, especially when the judging is pretty inaccurate
