I lived in Ontario from 1969-1978. It was a great place to live as a kid growing up. The park in Ontario was so large in comparison to the size of the town you of thought it was meant for a much larger town, thus, during the developing and settlement years the founders had large hopes for the towns growth. A college was built there but a tornado came through and destroyed it, the college was not rebuilt and the hopes of the founding fathers of Ontario becoming metro was smashed. If you look you can probably still see the old foundation of the college. Being on the river Ontario also had a mill, as a kid it was an interesting place to check out, I would assume it's still there too. The river was so clean, the fishing was great as well, nothing like skipping school in the early spring to go fishing, sitting in the sun after a long hard winter.

What I remember most was playing basketball in the park. Some of the best players around anywhere, and they took it very seriously as well, playing into the dark many of nights. I still remember when one the guys just got back home after serving in Vietnam, his FIRST LIST was playing a game of basketball with his old buddies. Yep, those were the days..:-

If you don't mind to tell me, what's his fathers name, I would bet that I know him.

You are correct, it's a great place to raise a family. We went to the Brighton school back in those days, that was great as well, however, I would of loved to of went there when it was a High School, there is no doubt in my mind that smaller class rooms are better.
