Scotty was not killed in prison. Check out the Georgia Dept of corrections website and he is still showing as an active prisoner

Unfortunately I am a family member of scotty, his mom was loving and he was just evil, his mom has passed and he is where he belongs as far as the details we know and they should never be discussed. The little girl needs peace

They caught the guy who killed her the night she was killed. The boy who killed her was 14. She's buried in hogansville. I think her last name is Duffy.

I live in hogansville as well. I am 36 years old now and grew up hanging out at Scotty's house with his mom, Lynn, and his sister, Lisa who was my age. Drugs were a big scene back in the day (very early 90s) in that household and his mom and sister were quite abusive to him. Lynn was a crazy hippy type who was more interested in her next fix than if her kids got the basic necessities to live. We all knew he would meet a bad end. He was not killed. He is alive and well in prison. However his mother died of a heart attack and his sister died of aids a few years ago from intravenous drug use. I never met the little victim Pamela but remember it was very close to Christmas when it all happened and the whole community felt the families pain. It wasn't apartments where she and Scotty lived it was the projects near white street and the old Crocker primary school. The white folks projects with mainly older people and single mothers with kids living there. When me and my friends hung out at the party den it was in the village on granite street, but Lynn lost the shack from taking out a second mortgage on her home by investing it on drugs, the dealer never gave them a penny for what he made off of it. Just FYI. Signed a former village rat turned professional lol.

Sometimes I wonder why I still choose to live in hogansville. It's a very small town. Most of the residents are lower middle class or non working single families Drugs are rampant. Meth especially. Nothing to do here anymore. The only places we have to eat is Wendy's McDonald's subway and a crummy Chinese joint. But I made the decision to purchase a home here so I'm stuck for better or for worse. No selling anything in this economy. Point being, he was a product of his surroundings. I'm not taking up for him at all. That boy is pure evil. When we looked him in the eyes we saw no emotion even as a toddler. Hmmmmmmmm is evil something inside of a soul or is it something that is learned? Trust me if u knew him there was no answer for why he was like that. Truly warped.

Reading this thread I was shocked and appalled.
The thread was started with an inquiry by someone curious as to what ever happened with the case. Unfortunately phrases like this one" Ropes and other devices still hang from the trees where she spent her last moments alive." are not something that any close friend or a family member would expect to read, want to read, hear or think about. The same with what seems to be concern about the young boy who committed the crime. As family of the victim I see Nicole's reaction as quite normal.
There was nothing in the previous comments that came across as "keeping her memory alive"!
Therefore this comment: "but you cannot tell people not to keep their memories of her alive because her family should be the only ones able to preserve those memories, that is just being selfish....."
Was rude and out of line!
and THIS comment:
“Let go? Crave attention? Perverted limelight?”
This was a post of true sick ignorance and YOU should be ashamed of yourself.
Before hearing about the crime on the news, I had never met Pamela or her parents. When I first heard about it my heart immediately went out to this family. I felt compelled to reach out to them in some small way and that is what I did. I got in my car and drove to Hogansville, which is my still my hometown. Before going to their home I went by McKibben's, the door was open, I signed the book. I spent several minutes with little Pamela, I cried for her and her family, for my little girl and my family.
I drove to the apartment complex in hopes of locating the right apartment because I wanted to show my respect and to let them know that I "understood" how they were feeling as I too had just recently lost a child, age 8 in October 1997. I doubt they remember me at all because they were in shock. However I do think of them quite often.
"The pain will go away, with time." "It won't be so bad, after a while." So say these friends of mine...
But they have never lost a child....
The pain will never go away! Yet it softens some, with time. My child is gone, it hurts to say, I'll never be "just fine"

Its amazing ppl are still talking about this. I worked with Pam little Pamela's mother at Nobles Truck Stop back long ago. Pam lived beside my dad and me for a while. I remember this sweet little angel riding her bike back and forth in front of our houses. She had a beautiful smile which she would show as she would wave to me when she would see me come and go from my house. I had moved away from hogansville when this happened when my dad who still lived in hogansville at the time called me. It was so sad to hear about it. This was before they got Scottie. My dad told me where she was last known to be and I told him about the teen hangout behind the baseball field which is where they found her. I had seen scottie playing with the girl before I moved away. Working with Pam I told her to be careful and keep a close eye on scottie that he was dangerous. I told her of scottie usually carrying a bag with a 357 revolver in it at times and of his home situation. She was trying to be nice to Scottie and show him how a real mother was. I told my dad that if she was with him or him and his mom had done something to her I never thought it would turn out like it did. I regret so much not scaring scottie away from her when I first saw him playing at her house. As far as anyone taking up for scottie or his family I pitty you, his family was more than druggies they were flat out evil with his mother being the leader giving scottie things and teaching him thing a child should have no part in, pimping out his sister, THEY ALL WERE EVIL!. The memorial garden was beautiful when I got to see it. May this little angel Rest In Peace. Scottie I pray you get beat and raped every day your in prison u deserve nothing less.

I remember going to this little girls funeral. I was 17 years old. I never knew this child but my ex's family did. She was a beautiful child. I felt so bad for her family. I have never forgot about this and always hoped they got who did this to her. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends. I will never forget because it reminded me how fast life can be taken away.

She was NOT raped, nor was she slashed in an X pattern. Nor is Scotty is prison for the rest of his life. His sentence was 14-Life. He was first eligible for parole almost 5 years ago. He was denied. That means that he will soon be up for parole again next year.
