No matter what your last name is - if you have knowingly committed tobacco insurance crop fraud and collected funds - you deserve trouble and nothing swept under the rug! It was part of our hard paid in tax money that provided you payments that you did not deserve.

Anyone that hides the facts - needs to be in trouble too!

This whole thing is just as bad as burning the Amercian Flag by a outcast.

Appears some of you farmers have gotten greedy! YOU deserve the money taken away from you, NEVER allowed to grow a tobacco crop EVER again, and JAIL TIME!

Wow, I would have thought you would have gotten some sort of response-even if it was a screw you. But I think these farmers are scared. There were several farmers who were sweating the last time the law investigated the tobacco farmers because they were guilty of the same thing Morgan and the others were charged with but the informant just gave the law a few names and not all. Is it the same this time? Tobacco insurance fraud has been going on for years but is it that many people involved or is it that big? It's strange that someone gets a barn burned down and everybody shuts up. Is there a Macon County Tobacco Mofia?

it would seem they have nothing to worry about at all.

Anyone that has been paying attention for the last ten plus years know the laws do not apply to any of the elite, unless they steal from or screw over the elite.

I mean really, most all of you watched congress and all of DC commit treasonous act after treasonous act, stealing from and screwing over the very people who allegedly put them in office, and then continue to condone and approve of it by giving them your consenting vote.

Of course the farmers in your area are the elite, they even get a huge break on property taxes, tons of government hand outs and tax breaks, and are generally at the front of the line screaming in protest about those struggling (many of which they employ) getting food stamps.

Yet, I've never worked for a farmer that even had enough decency to pay his help a living wage. The way I see it, if you are in business and cannot pay NEEDED help a living wage, you need to do the free market and tax payers a big favor by finding something else to do and likely working for somebody that can and isn't so greedy.

I'm not singling out farmers and certainly appreciate what they do, I'm talking about everyone running a business that creates slave wage jobs. Interestingly enough, upon closer inspection, those doing this generally seem to be doing quite well while those they employ seem often unable to even feed themselves.

Truly, it's hypocrisy, bad wrong, a huge problem in the entire country and nothing less.

I was raised up in a tobacco patch and I know how hard the work is. I respect those who still chose to raise a few acres honestly as they try to hold on to their farms. But what about these millionare tobacco farmers who raise 100, 200, or even 500 acres of tobacco. Some farmers got over a million dollars in the tobacco buyout but that wasn't enough. Some stand in line to get farm welfare that we the taxpayers must pay and that still isn't enough. Some raise these huge amounts of tobacco and it still isn't enough and they have to commit tobacco fraud? How much is enough?

I guess you don't know that the us government pays about 1/2 of the insurance. At least me as a taxpayer is concerned. If I cheat on my taxes they put me in jail.
