Mark Shrum was a great player. Very hard noise. But the best ever all around was Tilman Boren if tthats how you spell it.

Toughest ever is Thomas Mowell but Charlie Fry and Casey Oldham were close. Best ever was Jimmy Glover and Tilman Boren were close. Best team ever was 2003 who dominated TC that year. Best coach ever wad Cochran who they screwed over or we could have starting dominating TC yearly.

Troy Dickens was best athlete. Tim Case had most heart. Mark Shrum was toughest. Glover was best all around.

David Wright could have been best but that was back in a day when Carter made kids choose to only play one sport ( basketball) or sit the bench.

Does anyone if Brandon Harris is playing? I don't know if he is any good, but looks like he would be a beast!

I didn't know the 81 team won 12 games? The bes team was the 2003 12-2 team.

I'm pretty sure MCHS was undeafeated in the 1980 season but lost in the playoffs because several players were unable to play because of injuries

We have only had 2 players drafted by the pros. Jimmy Glover and Gary Perdue. Neither chose to go. Jimmy won the Bill Majors award at UT which was the biggest award given on the team. He didn't make the All American team but he did make all SEC 2nd team I think. Gary Perdue made All OVC. Harry Flippin was a very tough player who went to Nam, then came back and played at MTSU. Before he joined the services he was offered several scholarship in several big name school. But once he was out for 4 years he tried out at MTSU and won a starting spot. Mark Shrum may have been the toughest. He was All OVC at Tenn Tech but could have played at a larger school. Sherman Jent played at MTSU and Minn. I doubt any running back has scored more TD than Sherman. Then you got hew comers little the Dallas boy a few years back. Great player on a weaker team. The Hudson running back with the team that went to state. Then there were some way back that were said to be tough. Norman Purdue comes to mind, Bill Jenkins. Bill started as a freshman at WKU and then didn't go back to school. He was second team All State behind Johnny Majors. And of course Pat Parker. But these I would say were the best of the best. There were several who played in positions that didn't get much attention but were still very good players. Eddie Goad, Tony Harper, Joe Dickens, Bill and Ronnie Carr, Gary Wright, Bobby Ballou, Moe Driver, Ole Bobby Gann. these all made the Hall of Fame. But my vote would have to go to Glover, Gary Perdue, Mark Shrum, Harry Flippin, or Sherman Jent. AS the best. The toughest i would vote for Mark Shrum and Flippin. And I am sure there are several more than i have forgotten.

Coach Dean Fisher said Barry Jenkins was the toughest he ever coached. And he was there in our heyday! Also Randy Napier a very tough running back. Mike Bullwhip McClard a tough LB and Lineman for his size. the list goes own. A lot depends on your age of watching or playing.
just sayin

Nicky Green was superb lineman which made at least all region probably ever year of his high school career, but the other players were basically good high school players. Swindle would have been a lot better if he would have played all four years but no where close to being called all that. Jamie was tough player with a lot of heart.
