Thank you so much KVOL. And a bigger thank you to Stephanie Ware and the others that have decided to file a lawsuit that Mr. Durel, Redflex, City of Lafayette can't win.
It doesn't take a lawyer to figure what they are doing is illegal. Anyone with a first grade education will know this.
Mr. Durel, and all others who voted for this scam should be immediately be recalled.
Send Redflex back to Australia to eat Eucalyptus trees.

Dear Durel,
How would the families of those people who died in crashes on Amb. Caffery feel better if they had a PICTURE of the speeding car? Maybe an actual policeman would stop the speeder?

In 2005, Mr. Durel said at a public Lafayette Council meeting that it was ok to deceive the federal government to receive federal funding. What a man!!!!!!!!!

Would someone please tell me if the corner of Congress and Ambassador Caffery states, "No right turn on red"?

It does not say that. Why do you ask? The majority of red light offenses are for making a right on red and not completely stopping. www.thenewspaper.com This has nothing to do with safety. The blatant runners that you see on TDA are rare. The clips they show are repeated over and over.

The Photo Block Spray did not work on my new plate. I got 2 tickets in the same spot on University and Simcoe. I know serveral others that got one there too. The first one I was only 8 miles over and I paid it. But, I refuse to pay the second one cause the min. I saw the camera flash, I looked down at my speed and I was going 35 mph which is the speed limit there. I am taking it to court cause right is right and I know I was not speeding. Had my children in the car with me and they also looked at my speed. I do not know how this is going to turn out but I am going to fight it. If I was speeding, I would pay it. It is only $25 but the point is that I was not speeding. How many others have got caught and just paid the ticket. There are making big bucks on all of us. What are the cops doing now that their job is being done for them? Eating donuts I guess.

TO cheep or Theft Light Lafayette'.
Yes most of the red light running is people that do not come to a complete stop when turning right on red.
The are several intersections that while the turning left from the turning lane light is on you can make a right turn in the direction where the left turning vehicles are coming from.

It seems the city of Lafayette is to cheep or is it they are making to much money to place the proper lights and street markings.

Look and See,

Check Congress and Guilbeau. You can turn right from Congress to Guilbeau heading to Johnston while the left turn signals for from Guilbeau to Congress are on. There is no way that anyone could hit you unless they run the red light and take out vehicles turning left. Where is the proper lighting to protect our citizens and stop us from sitting there wasting fuel. I thing the Obama administration should be abreast of this great wast of energy and the unwarranted release of carbon because a city wants to line its coffers.

I just moved here from Texas and recieved a letter in rhe mail for running a red light. I was turning left and allegedly did not stop. With the car I was driving there is no possible way to make the turn without stopping or at least slowing down. I will not take this lying down. I will firht tooth and nail. This is quite a racket this city's government has got going on.

Today on the radio 105.1 Moon talked about the poll that was taken by the city for the speed Cameras. Like every thing else the city now does is loaded with bull. I hope the law suits work. Next how many signatures does it take to get the speed lights and speed van on the election. I will work on this as I am retired and don't like the way the city is going. Thanks about the warning about coming to a complete stop to turn right on red.

Someone said you can contact the credit agencies and state that you do not have a contract with that company and they are supposed to remove it. There was an article in TDA that had an interview with a guy that racked up thousands in fines and never paid. Said he had them taken off his credit scores. Never tried it, though as I only got one (for a rolling stop) and paid it.

No Public vote on red light camera's.. We all know why they won't allow it. The majority of citizens in Lafayette know that it's a money making scam and it would easily be voted out. Joey will stop this from being on the ballot at all costs.

After 5 years our traffic engineer has failed to convince the public that the red light camera's are nothing more than a money grab by the city. Now the mayor is taking the job away from him and giving it to the already overloaded police chief. The mayor is also threatening to take away funds from the traffic department. Politics and money, that's what the red light program is all about. Lafayette, we have been fooled long enough.
