Lavergne pleads not guilty to murder of ULL student
LAFAYETTE -- Brandon Scott Lavergne uttered only two words during his arraignment on two counts of first-degree murder: "Not guilty." Friday's court appearance was the first time the public saw and heard from Lavergne since his July 5 arrest in connection with the May 19 disappearance of University of Louisiana at Lafayette student Mickey Shunick.
