This is fantastic, finally a branch of state government recognizes our military personnel's value and dedication to our country, not to mention the sacrifices they and their families make daily. Freedom is not free, and it's a crying shame that the Washington crowd and Fearless Leader up there despise America and the one's who keep it safe. Good for Ky,good for all. P.S. let's vote these worthless parasites out of office in 2010,vote and get rid of The One in 2012 before it's too late for all of us.

I like the idea but it should be exempt from Federal Tax not the state tax because they are working for the country not the state. I would like to see state workers exempt from Fishing licenses and state park access fees.

Don't bring the draft back, who would you rather serve with and trust your life too a draftee or a volunteer who wants to serve not just stay out of jail. Vet your right if deployed to a war zone personnel are tax exempt, and the last I checked Ky. is in the United States.

Nope, vet, definitely not exempt from federal when you are overseas--when you are in a combat zone, yes, but we've been overseas for 10 years and we pay federal income tax on military income.
Parts of this discussion makes me a little embarrassed to call myself a Kentuckian. |

right about ,in combat zone you are exempt from fed.income tax+get hazzard duty pay & overseas pay also. maybe why some sign up for mutiple tours in combat . realize times are different from my era,Veit Nam ,they may not have same options as we had as to going back .back then few went over as a unit ,only as replacements for those either killed, wounded , or served thier time [derosed]"date of estimated rotation of service". |
