What happens after they have used the fund up? This money won't even cover 1 year of operating it.

This is nothing more than a circus act who the hell cares. If you think for one minute that the Goverment officials the local ones check their back pockets! thats were the funding will fall short.
These programs in this county town areas are a joke brought on by the justice system of Judges who are a bunch of crooks any way.

That money is needed but we have to get the building up first! or there won't be any need for thee money!
there is also grant money to apply for to train employees which we'll need when we open. This will allow jobs from thee first shoval of dirt, and start making money the day we open the doors. It will also be the being of stopping the abuse thata our kids suffer, and it's a proven fact that those who abuse growup to abuse. IT MUST STOP.
We also need to keep the 1.5 million we pay out to OTHER COUNTIES EVERY YEAR here in this county where it will help more families. LETS DO IT

I think it's a NATIONAL DISASTER that 25% of our jail is under the age of 25. Kids that are acting out, making bad decissions because they don't feel like they have anyone to turn to. Their grandparent abused their mom and dad, so mom and dad abuse them, and if untreated they will have their own kids to abuse. Judge Rush is seeing her 3rd generation of families now. WHY? Well this county has been TALKING FOR 17 YEARS. TALKING AND PAYING OTHER COUNTIES 1.5 MILLION DOLLARS A YEAR TO TAKE OUR KIDS TO OTHER COUNTIES.
That is OUR MONEY we NEED TO KEEP IT HERE PAY OUR EMPLOYEES TO TAKE CARE OF OUR KIDS AND HELP THEM AND THEIR FAMILY TO STOP THE ABUSE.
Kids are OUR future. If we don't invest in them we may have a very bleek future.

the JJC WILL make money from the day they open the doors. It will also create JOBS. INSURANCE companies pay some for treatment and parents will have to pay some.

The current expense is $900,000 to $1 million not $1.5 million. Get the facts straight! The cost to operate and pay for the bonds will be at minimum $3.6 million a year. HUGE difference. That is a minimum of $72 million over the life of the bond without employee pay and benefit increases. It's a shell game and they are playing with our money.

Please spare us the liberal boo-hoo BS about the poor kids that nobody liked.

Other than a very FEW cases of real abuse, most of these kids think that DISCIPLINE is abuse. Many kids believe that "Being told NO" is abusive. We live in a society of choices. And if you make a bad choice, you deserve to be punished. Parents don't spank their kids anymore, they don't ground them, or if they do, they don't enforce it. THAT is the root cause of all of these problems. And the only real reason to build a juvenile center here in this county is so that all of the parents, who CHOSE not to be parents at the time, don't have to travel so far to see their little brat.

Here is a tip for all: If you choose to have children, you are NOT their friend, you are their parent. Act like one, or a jail guard will do it for you.

I am curious where you get this idea? It is obvious that you really have no idea what you are talking about.
I wish we only had "a very FEW cases of real abuse" in our County.
As for the JJC, Tippecanoe needs the justice center now. Everyone is keeps saying the economy this the economy that... things are only getting worse which means we have more juveniles in the system which means we are paying more to other counties to house our kids.
Wake up people & get real.

Parent and business owner....Have you seen a decline in your business? Maybe too many private contracts canceling because of the economy? Were you a winning bidder on a part of the JJC? Are you going out and personally buying a new home and cars? Maybe you are cutting back as should everyone including the government. Facts are facts, it costs less to send them out and it will be a long while before those costs add up to what this facility will cost to build and run.

scamppersmom...stay away from the meetings since you don't live in the county and you know nothing about the finances as if it were to make money there wouldn't be a concern on how to fund it. Why don't you spend more time being a parent instead of repeating the dribble that some are feeding you.

Abuse cases should be handled by DCS not a JJC. DCS is run by the state for abuse cases. JJC was to be for delinquents not child abuse. Unless of course, we were all being sold a bill of sale and they were going to start detaining abused kids which isn't their job.

CPS allowed a case last years to go thur the cracks that ended with a child dying by the hands of her parents

These abusive parents needed treatment as kids so that they would have caused this baby to die.

so much for your CPS DOING THEIR JOB
