Our local police department appears to work in unity with the precision of a high quality machine. It would certainly be a terrible world without them. They are the first people we call when we need help or feel threatened by someone in society and they always respond politely with very good manners.

I cannot agree that the arresting police officer needed to be trained a second time in “Critical Decision Making Under Stress” because he knew he was facing a possible drug dealer who probably had a gun. If anything, he deserves appreciation and thanks for his brave efforts in getting the criminal off the streets.

However, the one thing that I noticed was the difference between the charges that were reported in the news paper and those reported in the Police Blotter for February 17, 2012. The news reported the charges were “resisting law enforcement, dealing marijuana, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, criminal recklessness with a vehicle and dealing in cocaine“. The Blotter listed charges as “unlawful possession of firearm by a serious felon, possession of an altered handgun, dealing in cocaine, dealing marijuana, possession of marijuana“. Perhaps they ALL apply.
