Great story, but you need to mention the businesses that supported this effort. It will give us an opportunity to support those who support charities.

I would like to thank our major donors that helped us this year. I would like to thank - Mr. Penguin Tuxedo & Bridal Boutique, Posey Patch, Chiffon, Sparkletone Dry Cleaning, Cookie Lee Jewelry & the friends and family of St. Lawrence Parish for donating dresses, jewelry & shoes. Also, I would like to thank Puccini's for a great night in raising donations for the 2009 Prom for Jackson County High School.

I use to be a student at Jackson County High School (class of 2004). I will never forget my senior prom. I wanted to be able to attend so desperately and couldnt due to lack of moneyes. Then Mrs Rose started advertising at the school "Cinderella' s closet. She has just received a donation of dresses from your community & Mrs. Walters. I will always remember. It took probably 30 minutes for us to pick out the perfect dress. She then gave me some earrings. Just like Cinderella, I didnt have any appropriate shoes. SO happened, that the teacher, Mrs. Rose was wearning these black shoes that had rhinestones around the edges, she took them off of her feet. She handed these to me and said try these on so that I will know what size to find for you. They fit me perfect and look beautiful with my new dress but I embarressinly took them off and started to hand them back to her. SHe refused and said "keep them, its almost time to go home anyway so you can have them" I can just imagine her walking barefoot through the halls of our school and too her car so that I would have shoes for the prom. I will never forget this. I mean, a teacher gave me the shoes she was wearing so that I could have prom shoes to go with the beautiful dress, & jewelry that was just gave to me. I didnt really know her, never had her in class (I think she taught special education) but she was so generous to me. SHe also gave me something that I hadnt had in a while....just simple hope & compassion. I am now a student at EKU...she inspired me, so I want to be a teacher just like Loretta Rose. ANd....just like the Ladies that donate all of these beautiful dresses, I want to donate someday too. Thank you all so much. It really does help students to go to the prom and it inspires them in so many ways. It offers hope, where there is sometimes none. Just like Mrs Rose said...every girl wants to be a Cinderella, just for a night. Kayla
