If you were running red lights you are the cause of them being installed, not me, so you are the ones who asked for it quit Bitc**G!

<quoted text>Agreed...maybe if these idiots rack up 3 or 4 tickets they might consider actually stopping at the red light.
So, you are a perfect driver? You've never run through an intersection where the light may have turned red while you were in it? Now you think "it is the other guy who will receive tickets." You'll think much differently if/when you receive a ticket in the mail and grumble "But I'm a great driver, this isn't FAIR."

I will easily admit I'm not a perfect driver (two moving violations in 25 years of driving. I'd say 10% of the time I'm driving, I could very well be that "idiot" driver.

Aren't YOU that old fart that drove through a couple vegetable stands awhile back, due to the "stuck" accelerator?
Why doesn't the AARP file a class action suit against all the car companies for singling you seniors out and selling only cars with "defective accelerators" to you?
Now if you would just get yourself a nice piece of warm apple pie, sit down and turn on Andy Griffith..........now isn't that nice?

Some cities decided to shorten the yellow phase to have more violators and therefore more profit from those cameras. It's just too tempting. See reports here:

No it was not me, and I resent the implication, I have a 58 year clean driving record, no tickets no accidents, how about you?

The issue here is that these open the door to SO many problems; in at least one state (Texas I believe?) they've been outlawed. In another city, and I'll see if I can find the link to this, the city was found to have shortened the yellow light in order to increase revenue from these.
Yes, we want to increase public safety, but these cameras will ticket you regardless of if you get stuck in the intersection in traffic or run the red light.
Although, with the asshole now heading up the traffic court, nobody will want to challenge these, so I guess it's a win/win for the city.

It is imperative that the people comprehend the nature of a public agency and the administrative state. The public agency stands first as the court of original jurisdiction; which shall administratively adjudicate civil claims in compliance to Indiana's Administrative Orders and Procedures Act.
The way the government prosecutes traffic tickets today is a scam. Indiana's Administrative orders and Procedures Act requires that traffic tickets to be litigated in a hearing held by the BMV before a judical court can be conveened.
Therefore procedural due process is violated when the goveernment skips the BMV agency hearing and improperly moves the alleged defendant into a judical court which sits only in review of the BMV
agency hearing.
Therefore since the judical court sits in review of the agency action and therefore since there was no BMV agency hearing held, consequently there is no BMV agency action in front of the judical court to review.
Your required appearance in the judical court would be satisfied by filing by mail a pre plea motion to dismiss for want of subject matter jurisdiction because there is no subject matter (an agency action) for the judical court to review.
People need to open the law books and read them with comprehension or continue to suffer the usufferable administrative tyranny that is being foisted upon them due to thier singular ignorance of the law and procedure.

I bet you would change your tune IF a camera accused you of running a red light.

On the same token you later indicated 58 years of having a clean driving record. Now add 16 years to 58, makes you roughly 74 years of age of which makes your drivers license essentially probationary. Can you afford to lose your license/insurance coverage over a camera?

"Shut up!" your way of saying, "I'm in over my head, here. And I should have taken my Geritol!"
Note, grandpa, I'm probably older than you. But I don't come on here touting my "safe-driver-awards" and puffing my chest out like you.

Mississippi just passed a law outlawing red-light cameras.

MISSISSIPPI! How can Indiana be slower than Mississippi1, fercryinoutloud, to realize these things are more trouble than they're worth?

Among the bills signed into law by Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour on Friday is House Bill 1568, which bans the use of cameras to catch motorists running red lights.

Jackson is among several cities in Mississippi that uses or was considering using cameras as ways to reduce accidents and raise revenues through automated ticketing. Columbus has already resolved to remove its cameras in anticipation of Barbourís signing the bill. Other cities that were reportedly considering installation of the cameras include McComb, Natchez, Southaven and Tupelo.

The Capitol City has cameras at eight intersections around the city and a three-year contract with the company that manufacturers them, reported WAPT last week. City officials have until Oct. 1 to take down the cameras.

Put the cameras in government offices so we the people can watch and weed out the real criminals.
