I'm not so sure I buy into this story. Most everyone I know has a foreclosure in their neighborhood. In fact, I have two homes foreclosed on. South of Lafayette there are several foreclosed homes.

Maybe foreclosures aren't considered in this review?

It is very encouraging that the market seems like it is holding up in this area. As a prospect seller, I am very concerned about the falling of property value and how low the houses are selling for.
I appreciate this article, though I would have like to see the experts talk a little more about the selling. I saw at one point six houses for sale on my street, with sings for a very long time. I understand that Spring and early summer are times when houses sell easier, I would like to see a comparison between now and fall. I think I would be more credulous that the situation is getting better when I hear that homes are selling during the fall and winter.

Thank you for hearing my voice.

I'd have to agree with Hoosierbyheart.... I for one have watched 2 New homes sit for well over a year. Both families have relocated outside Indiana & are not forclosures. We also have several other Homes in our area that have just been added to the market. It worries me as I watch the listing prices of these homes drop month after month. We bought my home with the idea of reselling after 5 yrs with a bit of a gain. However I doubt that is going to happen unless something drastic changes.
I think this is just another sugar-coated story portraying Lafayette as Pleasantville.

Did you see the magazine that came out in last weekend's paper portraying the new built Homes that one best of show for this or that?
Personally I think we have exceeded the supply in demand on housing.
I'd love to hear from a contruction company on their thoughts for who they think are going to buy the homes they keep building. Aren't they even in tune with the economy?
