Good try Bobby Boy, but MaryEllen and yourself both post from the same IP number, you are one in the same. You're a deplorable creep. You've never been man enough to say anything to anyone face to face. Hide behind your key board Bobby Boy, and you'll always be a boy, never a man.

I am a local who was raised in the area. I was here way before the Villages and here is what I have to say. Because of the Villages I am able to raise my children where I grew up. My husband and I both have jobs thanks to the Villages , 2 of our children are in their second year in college due to the wonderful education the Villages school has provided, our daughter is well on her way to finishing high school and entering college thanks again to the Villages being here. Both my husband and I work directly with the Villages residents in customer service positions and we love it. Wonderful people. No, I am not being paid by the Morse family and I do not know them peronally, just speaking the truth from my side. We are very grateful for the Villages.

Well written by a representative of the developer.

I think the Morse family have gotten very greedy. The man(Harold) who started the Villages was a wonderful man. But for his son and grandchildren, its all about making money, I hope they lose on the IRS issue. They get away with way too much.

Before you decide to move to The Villages, educate yourself. Find out about the Villages's monthly mandatory 'amenities' dues that add up to over $1600 a year. Whether or not you swim in the community pools, play tennis on the courts, etc. you will fork over massive amounts of cash for the privilege of having these recreational toys at your disposal.
Want to do something fun, like attend a class or event at one of the recreation centers? Be ready to pony up another $1 -$5 and up per event despite the fact you're already paying through the nose. It's worse than a cruise ship nowadays!
Oh, and if you decide to purchase a home on 'lakefront' property (and pay tens of thousands of dollars for it), read the sales contract carefully. You'll find that it says that your 'lake' "may or may not contain water." Many 'lakefront' homes are now overlooking a huge dry hole in the ground since we've had lots of years with insufficient rain.
Be prepared to adhere to all the rules and regs of living in this senior citizen's Disneyland life: limiting the amount and size of your pets, how high your hedges can be, what color your house can be....even how long your holiday decorations can be on display IN YOUR OWN YARD.

EDIT: Sorry, I meant tens of thousands of dollars extra for the 'lakefront' lot you're buying to put a house up on.
