TEC: When Those Who Are Right Get it Wrong

There are 41 comments on the www.virtueonline.org story from Sep 22, 2012, titled TEC: When Those Who Are Right Get it Wrong. In it, www.virtueonline.org reports that:

Allan Haley writing as "the Anglican Curmudgeon" referred to the recent controversy surrounding the Cathedral of St. Luke and St. Paul in Charleston, South Carolina's specially called parish meeting to enact by-law changes a "Tempest in a Teapot". This meeting initially reported to have been instigated for the purpose of severing ties with the Episcopal Church is vehemently denied by the dean and leadership. I do not personally know Mr. Haley but I admit to being a big fan. I find his analysis typically candid, well researched, and informative. I have great respect for his talent and ability. I believe, however, in this case he is mistaken ...

"Last year I wrote a story reporting from a source claiming a connection between the charges brought against Bishop Mark Lawrence under the new Title IV Canon and the Episcopal Forum of South Carolina. During an October meeting between Bishop Lawrence and diocesan clergy a member of the forum's board of directors stated there was no official forum involvement in these charges ...

"Let us review the facts. Bishop Lawrence has been clear the General Convention of The Episcopal Church's continued repudiation of orthodoxy and its sanctioning of same sex unions changes the relationship with the Diocese of South Carolina. After meeting with his clergy Bishop Lawrence left for California for a time of prayer and discernment in how the diocese would respond. Upon returning he met with the standing committee and released a communication stating they were of one mind. This one mind has not yet been disclosed which has led to much concern and speculation. There is nothing in any of these actions to suggest business as usual within the diocese. Given this climate I am surprised that any action by a high profile parish would be described as a tempest in a teapot. Perhaps typhoon might be a more accurate description.

"It is human nature to desire that our personal understanding of issues be the one accepted by others. In the interest of full disclosure I am more in agreement with my orthodox brothers and sisters than the nominalist who now leads the Episcopal Church. That being said I am still not willing to give either side a pass. When the truth of the gospel is involved the stakes are just too high."

The "nominalist who now leads the Episcopal Church" is, of course, PB Kate Schori.

More use of VirtueOnline as a source of misconceived, dumbfounding opinion.

Less use of brain and its functions of thought and discernment.

LMAO!!!!.....

Yeah, well,... I guess David Virtue does desire that his personal understanding of his favorite issues be the one accepted by others.

But, when I post some disagreement with Virtue's blogs, it usually isn't the result of any response, pro or con, to D. Virtue's desire. It most generally is a result of YOUR imbibing of his Kool-Aid and subsequent regurgitation here.

Isn't that amazing?!

VOL sells his blog and supports himself by selling data mined through cookies he permits to be installed through his blogsite onto his readers' computers!

He sells religious sensationalism and Joe DeCaro buys it, lock, stock and barrel!
