Yeah it's the infamous Michael Meissner,I told our Sheriff that we need to beware anything coming out of Ladonia...all I can say is somebody didn't do a proper background investigation on this Gypsy Cop!
Here's one of many, many article out there on this guy:

Officer Michael Meissner

A former police officer who worked for over a dozen departments in Texas is behind bars Tuesday, held on numerous felony charges including engaging in organized criminal activity, promotion of prostitution, solicitation of minors and two counts of attempting to possess child pornography.

Activist and filmmaker Barry Cooper, who is producing a reality show called “KopBusters,” aided officers with the Combine Police Department in drawing the man out into the open, ultimately helping wrap a three-year investigation in the process.

Until late last month, Michael Meissner, 39, was chief of police in Little River-Academy, Texas, a town so small that it only had one officer. He resigned his post after residents of the small town packed city hall with complaints about his behavior, according to local reports.

Meissner called the town “a good stepping stone for me,” reported Temple Daily News, which noted that the former officer held 18 different law enforcement jobs over the last 14 years. The “gypsy cop,” said Dallas television station WFAA,“seemed to operate under his own rules, spending much of his time working off-duty security jobs 60 miles away in Dallas.”

Prior WFAA reports “found that Meissner had used a phony college diploma for certification and failed to let his employers know that he had been arrested twice,” the network added.

Combine police were initially probing Meissner over suggestions that he had misused official information to retaliate against another man. However, when they looked at Meissner’s text messages and e-mail, they claim to have discovered something much worse.

“When the affidavits are released, the public is going to be shocked,” said Cooper, speaking to reporters outside Meissner’s home.“The conversation and the lewd conduct he’s been involved in with high school boys. As an ex-police officer, it makes me sick that we’ve got a guy running around here in a badge, that the public is supposed to trust, and he’s using that uniform to breach the trust of the younger citizens in the community. It’s horrible.”

Two of Meissner’s neighbors additionally told RAW STORY they had repeatedly seen various teenage boys entering and leaving the residence.

“Man, I’m just glad police are doing their job, they’re heroes,” said next door neighbor Brenda Lambert.“Anyone that messes with children needs to be taken care of.”

“We don’t regret hiring him or letting him go,” Little River Mayor Ronnie White told the Daily News when Meissner resigned last month.“We will find another officer.”

Tactical officers, who had set up a staging area just one street from Meissner’s Arlington, Texas home, raided the residence at approximately 1:45 p.m. on Monday, but the suspect was gone.

He was arrested later that evening after returning to his home. Meissner actually called Cooper to warn that his that his home had apparently been raided. Cooper then called police and relayed Meissner’s location.

A judge has set Meissner’s bond at $1.5 million.

Cooper says he was in this instance an undercover journalist and police informant, who had befriended Meissner under the false pretense that he wanted to use KopBusters for the purpose of clearing his name.

For the man whose living is paid for by a DVD series on how to grow, sell and smuggle marijuana without being detected by the police, he certainly seemed to have a natural rapport with the officers on-scene.

Nope, he's the Chief alright. And so far he's laid claim to seizing some quantity of narcotics from the streets of Ladonia.

I'm surely no fan of this whack-job and I certainly don't see how the city could not have known about all of his brushes with Justice, but they hired him anyways.

Couple of interesting notes about this guy, in January of 2010 he created an LLC called Tutela Group which to this date still has not specific business categorization, No website and so far very little paper trail. Yet he's either purchased or renting (On Our Tax Dollars) a New Tahoe and has hired several Police <reserve> officers.

If he is so popular, I have to wonder why his Facebook page has so few friends on it and why his MySpace page is littered with women wearing skimpy clothing. I personally have not talked to a Law man in this county who has anything good to say about him. We as Ladonian's need to keep a weary eye on this yoyo and when he acts up go to the City and have him booted. And if the City won't boot him, we VOTERS need to look at our City councilmen and councilwomen and vote them off.

Why does a cop with this magnitude of complaints and employment history create an LLC just before he goes back into Public office? If you look into LLC law, you will see that an LLC has special tax protection and ideally makes for a good money laundering opportunity.

With as many years, hours and experience this guy claims with Law Enforcement narcotics, tactical and investigations he of ALL people would know how to make and hide ill-begotten money.

Furthermore, Citizens of Ladonia who have children should keep one eye on him and one eye on them at all times. Predators who strike once will strike again!

I have personally met the Police Chief of Ladonia. His name is Kevin Mayberry. He seems to have Ladonia's best interest at heart and take pride in what he does. And for what reason? Ladonia has become a safe haven to crack addicts and meth cooks since your fair town disolved the former police department 20 or so years ago.
The citizens of Ladonia should be happy to have a police department again, because it is and has been needed very badly. Ladonia should feel lucky to have a Chief like Mayberry that is probably doing the job for not only next to nothing, but all the crap you people are giving him in the process.
In response to numerous complaints... What cop actually does his job without some @55hole who claims to pay his/her salary complaining on them when they were only enforcing the law that you violated in the first place.
Any person that is willing to take on the crime of Ladonia should be given a pat on the back for simply trying. With citizens like the one who posted above, how can anything productive ever be done?
"Ladonia Citizen," next time someone steals your tv, breaks into your vehicle, or takes your wallet with a gun pointed at your head, I would encourage you to call the Fannin County Sheriff's Office to report it, look at how long it takes them to get there, and then see if anything is ever done about it. Then try getting a hold of anyone that even has knowledge of you reporting it.
I think that Mayberry has taken a 5h1t sandwich no matter how you look at it, and crime will never be resolved in Ladonia as long as there are closed minded people that don't support law enforcement in the first place. Keep up the good work Kevin ;-)

Here is what was posted on the yahoo group last night. Seems to me like our new cop knows what he is doing and is going to rid the city leaders who are only in it for themselves and there friends!!
I was asked to post the following.

At the last meeting of the city council, various improprieties of the council itself were brought up by a number of citizens (for example: illegal use of city property and resources as well as illegal meetings and votings by council).

As a result, Police Chief Kevin Mayberry has called on the County Attorney and the Texas Rangers to investigate. This Thursday at 7:00PM Chief Mayberry will be at City Hall to talk to the citizens of Ladonia and to listen to any and all instances where an impropriety of city council has taken place. Should you have any knowledge of illegal meetings, favored treatment, etc, please attend. This is not to be a fuss session, but voters should be there to voice their concern and their choice as to what should be done (e.g. fines, penalties and/or resignation of the mayor, mayor pro tem and/or any guilty council member).
