Shopping at the Lytle HEB is a horrible experience. Crowded, crowded, crowded with a bunch of lugnuts who block the aisles as they hold family pow-wows to try and reach an agreement on how many tons of meat, chips, Big Red, cheese, ice cream they should haul home.

One day last week, HEB was handing out free samples of some kind of chips and dips and I couldn't get through the door because masses of obese and grossly obese people were packing the entrance for a free chip with a litttle smear of dip on it. Hungry, hungry hippos!

Then, there are the knuckleheads who let their kids hang on to the side of the shopping cart knocking down displays and banging into people as they go their merry way.

Another PITA are the ones who just wander aimlessly down the aisles as if they completely forgot what they came to the store for.

Most of the aisles are impassible because boxes and carts are strewn everywhere, many of them blocking the item(s) I needed to buy.

Another pet peeve has to do with the stupid jerks who get to the doorway and come to a complete stop as if wondering "Where am I?" "Who am I?" "What the hell did I come here to buy?"

I know some people who love to shop there and can spend an entire day just cruising the aisles...not me bro! I take a list, I know where everything is and I grab what I need and I'm outta there faster than you can say "Every fat ass in Medina & Atascosa counties shop at Lytle HEB!"

I've spoken my mind, now let the racist, mean, insulting, rebuttals begin!

I switched to the HEB on Potranco Rd and 1604 because of all the things you mentioned. It is so much better. It's worth the extra 30 minutes to keep down my blood pressure. The Walmart there has groceries and is also very nice. I recently went back to Lytle HEB for one or two quick items and could not believe the difference. It seemed so dirty and crowded it reminded me of being in Mexico.

I hate it when someone pulls up in front of the store and then stops to let someone out. Then the A--hole who just got out of the car decides to have a family conference and leans in the window and discusses who knows what forever while lines of traffic is forced to wait til their discussion is over.

Then there are the dimwits who walk just inside the doorway and then stop and look all around, those are usually big fat asses who are so wide it is impossible to squeeze around them.

Then there are the checkers who are busily discussing their latest date or what they did, or where they went, etc., etc., while they run the same item twice thru the scanner or forget to put everything you bought into the bags and you have to make another trip back to that hell hole to get the stuff they didn't put in the bag.

A LOT of their canned goods are badly dented, boxes of cereal, etc. have been sliced open but are still put out for sale, milk and water jugs are dirty with bird droppings, grease, or mud and other filth. Baloney at the deli counter is turning grey around the edges. A lot of the cold and allergy medicines have been opened and pills are missing from the boxes.

CAN'T WE GET A COSTCO OUT HERE??? A place where civilized people can shop in comfort? Is that asking too much?

There are three types of people who shop there that really annoy me:
1. Large family groups that block your way and move oh so slowly along as if they are walking in a museum studying everything.
2. Hippos blocking the aisle doing likewise
3. Oblivious cell phone users blocking the aisle.
Question: do they not know they are rudely blocking all the other shoppers or do they know but either don't care or enjoy doing it and think it's funny.

I agree. There is another group - the morbidly obese on those motorized carts who backup without looking to see if anyone is behind them

Oh, and lets not forget the unsupervised kids who run wildly up and down the aisles playing chase and bumping into other shoppers.

Jackie:

The other day I saw one of the women on her go cart parked along side of the self-service olives in the deli. She had so many olives in her mouth -she- looked like a giant chipmonk. As I was checking out I reported the unsanitary conditions in the deli to the manager... He did absolutely nothing! The woman on the cart was digging with her hands in the olive container. NASTY!!!!!!!!!!

I also saw one of those repulsive gluttons rip open a carton of onion dip and dig her whole hand in and then she licked it off! Some ran down her arm and she was licking up the dip like a starved hound. A sight like that is a real appetite killer.

I saw a guy picking his nose and then he started handling the tomatoes. UGH! Makes you wonder what kind of germs you bring home in your groceries.

You gotta be kidding! Those rinky-dink "Mom & Pop" stores need to go. Their prices are double and triple, selection is VERY limited, the produce is old, the bread is stale, the meat is turning gray.

That's the BIG problem about living out here - too many "mom & pops" with high prices and they NEVER have what you need, so you HAVE to make the long, hot trip into San Antonio just to get some small item you can't find out here. We need a Lowes or Home Depot, a Michael's or Hobby Lobby,
A Costco or Sam's Club, we need a Gardenridge or Target. Think of all the time, gas, and money we could save if we had a coiple of those stores out here.

I don't know. I think we just have more than our share of a lower class of people around here. I don't think it's the store itself, although everyone knows they built it too small in the first place. It's the dirty, rude, thoughtless customers (all except for us of course) that make the store so bad. When you pack a large percentage of the lower class of people into a store that is way too small you can see the result. And by the way, this lower class of person has nothing to do with income. It is the mindset of these people.

Ms. Jackie Aol:

The HEB that I used to frequent is really nasty. Your description (bird droppings, etc.) hit the proverbial nail on the head.

Read in the SA Express News that a couple of those "go carts" ran head on in the candy section at one of the dirty HEB's. According to the reports one of the hefty patrons had her mouth full of chocolate, didn't pay attention, and ran into another hefty patron who was consuming cookies. Both go carts were totally destroyed and a fork lift had to be used to transport the customers to the hospital.

"LOL" you're absolutely right! Every disgusting, bloated, lard-ass shops at HEB. At least us "skinny heifers" are able to walk unlike you hippo-assed blubber butts who need a motorized cart to haul your bloated carcusses thru the store.

About six years ago, I lived in Somerset and I enjoyed my visit to Lytle HEB but then again it was new. I agree the low life people have alot to do with the destruction of the store. It be a good idea to get a couple of Super stores to spread out these herds of people.
