that does not seem like much of a survey. 200 people of there choice? this should be a town vote. taking peoples freedom away is a serious decision.its also no way to cut cost.kids are not criminals that you can lock down in the house because its so convenient for you.

I think a juvenile curfew is great. Have you actually walked alone in the dark in Laconia recently? I have.

Do you see the constant wave of crime, drug abuse, and overdose death, mostly juvenile related, going on?

Do you actually live in laconia?

Kids should be supervised by parents, and when parents fail at that task, law enforcement needs to be brought in to control juvenile violence and crime. There is NOTJING convenient about this at all. Are you EVEN a parent????

dear curious. you cant own kids. i would say that you were owned when you were a child. kept in the house your parents picked your friends ext ext. and look how you turned out. afraid of the world and dont let your kids out. 3/4 of a child's education comes from the real world not school not the parents. and i am a parent.

How many kids are being attacked around town after dark? Are we having incidents that aren't making the front page of the Laconia Sun? I believe the children of Laconia live in a pretty safe community and are the kids really doing destructive things? DRUGS ARE IN EVERY CITY. People overdose in every city. Kids should have parental supervision but there are a lot of people in Laconia who dont give a damn about their kids. There are also many who do. That is life! My kids aren't out running the streets after 9pm. My teenager has permission to drive to friend's houses or to and from the movies or Fun Spot etc,. I don't advise him to hang out in front of the Laconia SPA at midnight. Maybe midnight cuffews for teens out walking would be fair--I would rather see police harassing criminals instead of our local teenagers who can't find anything to do around town as it is!

My child and a group of friends were out walking past midnight obeying the law of not driving past a certain time and not driving with others in the vehicle as they are supose to. They were walking in a group to walk one of the friends home so that friend would not be walking ALONE!! Laconia PD therefore harassed them for being out even though there is no cufrew when they were just doing what they think is right. My child was threatened with a chins petition by the pd. My child is an honor roll student with career goals in his future and made the right choice to walk with a group of friends knowing there is no curfew. Laconia pd needs to search out the real criminals and stop hasassing these inocent kids who are doing nothing wrong. They were in a group to be safe, not driving when they were not suppose to be and out late knowing there is no set curfew. Give these kids a break and do the job us tax payers are paying for. Thumbs down to Laconia PD.

freedom comes before paranoia! if police think laconia is not safe they should call an emergency meeting. not to take freedom away but to hire more cops. dont have enough money for more cops then close the library. freedom comes before all other.

Dear Upset with Laconia PD,
That is absolutely rediculous that that has happened to your child. He was only doing what he thought wasnt going to get him into trouble because there is no curfew. There are worse things going on in this town then a group of kids walking their friend home.! I am 17 years old. I will be 18 soon. Let me tell you if i was in that group of kids & my mom heard about that there would absolutely be big problems. The harrassment from the police needs to be stopped!! Its not fair to us kids who have never been in trouble a day in our lives.! I believe that something needs to be done. Its unfair. Some may say life is unfair but the harrassment is very much uncalled for.! P.s. Laconia PD sucks!!!!!!!

Laconia Girl, If you are out past the curfew with your parent's permission and they know where you are and you are walking a friend home then.... you would not be in trouble with this curfew. Why don't you read the proposed curfew before you start bashing the POLICE. This curfew is to help protect children like you from bad people and criminal that would like to do you and your friends harm!!! READ BEFORE YOU COMMENT!!!

dear laconia girl. you are so right. these are selfish people! if you were to get in any kind of trouble they would look bad. so you should stay in the house. come out when they say you can. and only speak when your spoken to. you don't want to prevent someone from getting a raise do you.

Laconia needs to put a curfew on the trouble makers. I don't mean just teenagers, i mean criminals. No matter what age. I dont care if your 14 or 47, if you do something wrong, you deserve to be punished for it. The ones who mind their own business and never make trouble for anyone, shouldn't be harrassed and have a curfew slapped on them for nothing. I don't think thats what the founding fathers of this country had in mind. Im 17 turning 18 in 2 weeks. The point im trying to get across is if you commit a crime, you deserve to be punished. The ones who never get in trouble shouldn't. Put laws on people that deserve it!
