thats a damn shame, a person can't leave there home for anything without thinking about to get shot. Mount vernon is a very negative place no one needs to live in a place like this.Something needs to be done .. Or this will only get worse.

Excuse me,MamaD,i dont know which planet you live on,but to say Mt.Vernon is a negative place and not mention the crime that goes on in Elmsford is not correct. As a Judge,i resent that statement.
Where i live in Mt.Vernon,is all Multi-Million dollar homes, manicured lawns,ADT,at least 5 expensive cars in the driveway,Movie and Broadway stars as my neighbours ,Japanese gardens, million dollar bank accounts..You better wake up and realize the more the economy gets worse..the more desperate people-all people(Elmsford people too) will get.Yes even in your neck of the woods:Elmsford.(Home invasion, crack users, pedofiles)
Our hard working homeowners here in Mt Vernon is doing their best to make it in these times. We dont need a negative person like u..think you better than us or anybody else!Something is being done about the crime.I know Our Mayor and the Police Chief will do their best to get everything under control. We will do our best to keep our 'household' in order..Thank you and have a good day!Mind your own.ok

word on the street is that there was an incident that occurred earlier that night that involved the victim and this was a retaliation move. Apparently this young man has been on the wrong side of the law before and may have decided to make changes in his life a little too late.

Uh excuse me "Rip, yeah right", I live in Mt. Vernon. I never said he deserved to be shot while holding his son. But when you choose to live the life of a "gangsta" these are the consequences that come along with it.

I'd like to send my deepest condolesences to the Green Family & Friends. I have lived in Mount Vernon for almost 30 years. I tell my kids how Mount Vernon had parks with things to do, pools and people that cared. It has changed a lot! I do agree that this city has its good and its bad. I have witnessed how the city treats one side of town from the other. I stay in Mount Vernon because I have my families support but I honestly have to say "I am afraid for my 3 young children". I have lost male friends just as young as Hason or maybe younger. Unfortunately, there deaths due to the gangs active and the innocent who dead was because they were at the wrong place at the wrong time due to gang active. We don't know what was involved with his death, but murder is not the answer. God bless you and that baby boy who will be without a father.

Why do u people feel to have the nerves to come on this bloggy thing and down talk a guy who has never ever done anything to any of ya'll and regardless what he has done in the past nobody deserves to lose their life to the hand of another man... Who gave us the right to kill and take another mans life... This passing judgement against Hason is not even needed... If you have nothing construtive to say then dont say nothing at all... Cause I cant see why you cant just say R.I.P. Hason and keep it going....
R.I.P. HASON... GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN

I am sorry to say that we lost Hason. I miss him everyday. I will always remember everything that we did together since elementary school. He was a good friend and an even better boyfriend. Everyone may do negative things but [no one] deserves death by the hands of another. None of you know him and whether or not he was involved in organized crime doesnt single him out as a person who should lose their life early. Mount Vernon has had its share of crime, gangs, drugs, and violence, but no more than anyother town[Mama D].Ignorance is something that may live forever in the immature minds of adults, however, "just because Im badder than you doesnt make you any better than me." Don't comment about him if you dont [know] him. Kendra, I send you and your mom my love and respects. Hason..I miss you and I love you. You will [always] liv ein my heart and mind. Its weird how u cross my mind [everyday]..Its tough now..but Im sure we will all get past it.

OK so people are being shot and killed left and right and someone always want to point the fingers. Whether its the parents or the school system or even the churches, someone always have to get the blame. SMH. Its sad because when people are blaming this person or that person, it is wasting time!!! Action must take place. It doesnt have to be a mayor or police officer, but if someone sincerely care for this place then maybe something can get done. Its a shame and sad to hear that so many people died but you can stop the trend.
The one thing that bothers me is that this place is soooo small...not even a borough and it has alot of violence...i dont understand but I trust and pray that things will get done and people will just learn to get along....
