During these rough economic times, people cannot afford to spend money on frivolous items. People cannot even afford to pay their mortgage; hence the record breaking numbers of foreclosures. What does Lacey Park Apartment in Lacey WA say?, "let's raise the rent". Rent was raised $40.00 during the summer months of 2009. If there is anything that says "we don't care about our tenants"…it's raising the rent during a time of struggle. Vacancies grew to such a high number that the rent was lowered by $100.00 to attract new tenants. But what about the loyal tenants that stayed? What about those tenants that could not afford moving costs that they stayed and signed another lease? Property manager says, "there's nothing I can do." The first of every month, I write a check for an apartment that I rented in July 2009 that is $100.00 more than the person who rented in September of 2009. Property manager states that Ft. Lewis troop population is what impacts the rent rates. I am not military. I do not get a housing subsidy. I wanted to say thank you to Lacey Park Apartments for caring about their tenants. They are truly give a sense of community. It is a pleasure to live there. Recommendations all around.
