Tears at the heart.

Bless our patriots who lay their lives down so that fools can rant and rave freely on blogposts.

May the sacrifice of SPC Elias-- and the other men and women in uniform-- not be forgot

It must come as a big surprise to you but the patriots are those defending their families and country from illegal occupiers like that evil dead grunt.
He did not lay down his life, it was justifiably snuffed out and it certainly was never a sacrifice. That's something that has to be done willingly. He has already been forgotten.
Get real! The fantasy land you occupy is doing you no good at all.

Why do you call Elias "evil?" Did you know him? Do you know what his mission was?

When I was in Iraq, I spent hundreds of hours with the Iraqi children and their parents. These people were living in poverty, so I asked my friends back in the U.S. and the U.K. to send coloring books and toys and clothes.

The children and I played "football" and other games and told each other stories. They shared their culture with me, and I shared mine. I went to their homes, met their families (parents and grandparents), and had chai and bread with honey.

When it was time to leave, I was sad because I was saying goodbye to excellent friends whom I knew I might never see again.

I was not an occupier. And I'm certainly not evil (and I would hope no one would adopt that view of me!). Is it possible SPC Elias might have been a patriot who represented his country well and died in a foreign land?

I believe he was.

Hi Glendora,

Iraq, aka the cradle of civilization, the country with the world's second largest oil reserves is not to be confused with an African village. Its people lived amazingly prosperous lives until the 10-year cripplig US imposed sanctions.
This evil grunt was part of the illegal occupying force that destroyed Iraq, causing 4 million internal refugees/displaced, hundreds of thousand dead, and others horrifically tortured.
And what did Iraq ever do to the US?
Go on, give us a clue.
You should be down on your knees begging God's forgiveness for your pig-ignorance.

Sir,

To avoid confusion, please know that many people who serve in uniform did not and will not ever look upon the Bush Administration and its skewed policies with any degree of reverence.

Of course there are those in uniform whos actions are less than honorable, and their reasons for serving as varying and sundry as the next. But those twisted, demented soldiers in no way represent the whole of the Armed Forces of the United States anymore than Amy Winehouse's representation of the United Kingdom.

Much like myself, numerous soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines have done some wonderful things and are establishing relationships based in mutual humanity and charity.

To think that every single person associated with the armed forces is "evil" and inherently responsible for the actions of an Administration just goes to show complete and utter ignorance, be it "pig" or otherwise.
