This weekend I will be giving thanks to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice over the centuries to ensure that we can continue to live in this great country with all its imperfections, but still free. Those sacrifices range all over the globe and here at home.
I will also be giving thanks to those who served and were hurt in many different ways.
Lastly, and not the least, I will be giving thanks to those who served, but were fortunate to stay out of harm's way and return whole.

Pray for peace. There weren't enough flowers to go around to decorate veterans' graves when Memorial Day was convened in 1868, and there must be 50-100 million more such graves today. God save our troops and this great country.

You're welcome, but bear in mind that, as of today, three more US troops in Iraq will not be celebrating Memorial Day, and this is about them. Your time comes on Veterans Day, Bubba.

No it isn't and is an inherent trait of all you neocons to think all libs are dicks. I personnally agreed with the statement you were responding to - I don't agree with the later one though. Maybe Winslow was a little rash in pointing out facts but it doesn't mean they aren't facts. Memorial Day is for honoring the dead. Veterans Day is for honoring the living.

Memorial Day would appear to me to be sending your soldiers to other countries to die while importing as many cheap workers from those foreign countries as possible, but don't take my word for it. Ask Senator Schumer of New York about the amnesty he plans for 20,000,000 illegals and the increase in guestworkers which are already beign imported by your government at the rate of 138,000 per month.

Nice "representative" government you have, they do a good job of representing us while bending over you without so much as a reach around or offering a gob of vasoline.

You have a reliable link for the 20 million and for the 138,000/month?

Is it a trait of your kind to cry like little babies when somebody calls them a bad name?

Technically, I don't even think the guy was calling you a name though..... you must have soft skin.

Over where? We are down here. Geez, the American public educational system must be in shambles. Don't lecture me on my holidays until you can at least point in the general direction of my country.

No sh*t, Sherlock.

I was responding to the INDIVIDUAL, not arguing facts about the holidays.

Even on a thread that is to honor those who have sacrificed their lives for our country there is hate and discontent. Sad.

Guess some people didn't like the way I responded to you and your post.

BTW, I voted libertarian also. Maybe some day, huh?
