Boy, 16, killed in gang-related shooting

A 16-year-old boy was killed Sunday in a gang-related shooting in La Puente, a sheriff's deputy said.

He was a nice boy no matter what. It is so sad to see that he got involved in the gang wars. I hope these gang members get caught for committing such awful crimes. I pray for the mother and the family because they need everyone's prayers. I helped this boy in school and remember him as a student who was having struggles, but always tried his best.

Gang members are not nice boys. Maybe at one time when they were little boys they were. Well it was very nice of you to of tried helping this kid. But the majority of help and attention should of came from his parents or family members at a young age. Gang members do not turn crimanals over night. Join a gang and you are likely to live a shorter life than those that don't.

Yes he was from Townsmen and he had just completed a Juvenile Detention Camp program in Lancaster.. Word is that he was participating in a carwash when he was shot..prayers to the family

I think we are missing the bigger pic here, no matter what gang he was 4rm, regardless if he was a outstandung individual or not, us as a generation , and as a community, are seating back and letting the futrue of my race(blk), also your race(whatever), get killed off, not only by the gangs, but by each other, and sideway cops, and i feel if we dont get proactive about changing the futrue of the youth, then this shit is just going to keep getting wrost, and progessivly out of hand, until it gets to the point where,we are not going to be able to close our eyes at night and trust our on off-spring.Open our eyes People and lets stop talking about what we our going to do and lets get up and make this action.Gangs will never cease, but what we can do as a communinty is understand and diasect,and also allow them to get whatever messege that theyre tring to get accross,because if we dont let them speak their mind, trust and believe theyre going to keep clapping that 9, so hopefully its not to late for the next generation, because even though it appears that gang members dont fear anything: Not only do they fear, they also feel, so if the comminity could promise a better life for their kids, then i believe they wouldnt mind to cease some of the violence.(youth is my focus) The kids we breed today will lead the way for a better life 2morro.
