Might as well have been an election in South America!! No biggie, Gov Bill will ask him to step aside and place one of his own before he trots off to Washington.(this election was very indicative of how "informed" the voters are in northern NM - very sad)

It really makes me wonder how much thought New Mexicans put into the ballots that they cast when a guy like Jerome Block Jr. gets the number of votes that he did after everything that was revealed about his character. Kind of takes some luster off the history that was made last night...

Well, the voters of New Mexico DID speak. Too bad they decided the PRC should go back to being the scum ridden place it once was. They had Dopehead Shirley Baca, and now Blockhead.

I really wish people would take a short amount of time to educate themselves about the candidates before they take to the polls. There were several non-partisan voter's guides floating around, along with the continued news coverage on this guy. He lied about his criminal convictions and then tried to back-door his way around his lies, and then misappropriated campaign funds (i.e. MY tax money). Good golly.

This is New Mexico, Hector. Half the people that voted for him are relatives and the other half are the village idiots. He shouldn't have even been able to continue to run.

Block benefitted from top-down Obama/Udall momentum, where a majority simply voted "Straight Democratic". Such a convenience should never have happened had all voters thrown a little more "personal knowledge" into the process. Lass took a remarkable number of votes despite the influence of default inherent (behavioral) voting ... that being "target" voting, rather than through voter awareness of all candidates and their garbage.

Block should be concerned that he really didn't win this race based on a position of honor and integrity. Hopefully, his shame and a major swat to the backside from party elders, will force him to adopt an approach of responsibility. He won't, of course! My guess is that Block will continue to have issues with ethics, obfuscation and the law.

Gee....you'll have to contact each voter and ask them. They are not "village idiots"! The idiots are those who think nortenos need to vote "you're" way because of the way "you" think. In other words, "please do what I say and follow me....I will save you from yourself".

So I misspent me some money
On a band that didn’t play
I avoided me some forums
But I wanted it that way
You say that I am rotten
Cause I took what I could get..yes I took what I could get
Well you might think I’m crooked – but you ain’t seen nothin yet.
Buh buh buh baby…you just ain’t seen nothing yet

Now the "pressure " begins to harden--causing a "resignation" and appointment. It isn't the public's fault. The real key to free and proper elections is through a wholesale change
of the statutes which limit the competition and freeze registrations and opposition....of course many regular Democrats will not support such
because they will have to "loss" power which the "modified system" of understanding has produced. We can see this result in the number of seats in the Congress , legislature, and other state offices.

The outcome of this race is damned frustrating. Gloria, I'd like to know what issues the nortenos were voting on and what particular stands they broke with Lass on. I only ever heard about family relations, an obvious prejudice against someone being from outside NM, prejudice against being an educated candidate, and language.
Where's the beef?

What do you, and by extension, believe in vis a vis energy production, renewable portfolio standards, telecommunications rates and title insurance reforms??

JB never discussed those in a public setting the little people like me who don't want a $25 breakfast with spam, could attend.

Explain to me, please, why he was the superior candidate, considering he, as part of the commission, will rule on issues that effect everyone in the state, not just the north?

The "nortenos" have "spoken". Which means we will all have to live with the "educated" decisions junior will make for us. I think folks who are upset at this outcome are basing it on the fact that junior continues to lie and insult us as voters. We'll see how long he lasts before he insults us again.

I dont think we need to worry, he will hang himself in the long run, its just a matterof time before he mis-steps and they will replace him quickly and quietly.
