Are students being pressured into sports to a point where it is more important than school work?

I am a student currently attending Valhalla high school, and I believe school is centered too much on sports and more should be spend on academics. However, there are positives to it. But school is for learning, not about watching movies and how your hair looks, and who you will sit next to at lunch and things. This is an important issue for me, so please reply.

Actually, I am a teacher at Steele Canyon High School, and I believe of course the sudents are in high school so they are worried about those kinds of things but they also have their priorities straight, which is wonderful. well um i would like to say is .... some of us go to school to learn and we may also go to school to see our friends... wouldnt you like to see your friends .. not having to be in your house all day....

give it up little girl, there are stuck up concided little pricks that think they're special in every school every state. But whoever wrote this crap is probably one of those stuck up little pricks. yes, i also believe a lot of valhalla students,not all, are centered more about their looks and worry about their social life far more than their academics. Theres a lot of kids at this school that influence other kids because of their snobbish personalities and demoralize other children. Steele Canyon H.S. is a far better school, a lot of their students a re not snobbish. and real down-to-earth kids, love that, and thats what i would want for my kids, and the academics at Steele Is Great! I don't know why some kids are just so self centered, Change Valhalla become down-to-earth individuals and stop partying too much.
