why are they keeping the mines shut down when sieel Co.s are buying steel from overseas. this infomation is frm Computer TV.

Simple,

Minnesota State taxes and unions make it unprofitable for mining companies. In S. America there aren't unions, environmental laws, nor state business taxes.
