You are wrong on this one. It is zoned PUD, which means the usage is at the discretion of the P&Z Board. This development is adjacent to another industrial service company and is seperated from the closest residential neighborhood by a busy thoroughfare. There are several other alike type businesses within a 1/2 a mile. Therfore the proposed usage fits the surroundings.

I argued vehemently against PUDs when it was discussed during the comp plan land usage chapter because PUDs become political in nature when they are applied and here is my proof. The people that argued for PUDs and won are the same two who are whining the most about this project. I hate to tell I told you so but, I told you so.

I know I have made several grammer and spelling errors but, I am working a new program so bare with me.

If you knew as much about me as you think you do you'd have known my father died of liver cancer at the age of 47.

The chemical plants, specifically Shell chemical killed him and poisoned my family.

What was the REQUIRED PAPERWORK that didn't get done?

It being a Planned Use Development (PUD) property, are you saying that a General Plan was not submitted to P&Z along with a Special Conditional Use Permit (SCUP)?? Are there instances where those would not be required?

Please, Mr Mayor, City Council, Dottie, do something about this that will give us some hope that we have a civilized city, one of rules and regulations that are fair and reasonable, overseen by people of integrity and intelligence. This is not the situation at present.

Who in their right mind would appoint a barefoot bozo to a commission like this? What does this say about our elected officials?

As I understood, it was more or less a given that Phillip Hoot would be filling the spot on the P & Z if Dottie K got elected on City Council. So why couldn't something have been done before that happened if if was such a major issue? Did we, the residents, not have any say?

Personally I am shocked with the way Hoot is acting and talking.

I must have totally misread him.

I for sure had him figured for someone who cared about the environment and the health of the public.

We don't need any more industry or any more traffic any closer than it already is to our families!!!

Maybe this whole thread is a MOOT point judging from the post by "clari" who stated:

This is not the point. The P&Z Commission is out of control. There is a criminal in the justice system.

Send this project back to staff. Make them comply with the established rules. Council, at a minimum needs to do this. Our planning department is not without fault, but except for Hal Lawler, it is evident that there is no competence on this P&Z board.

Dottie, redeem yourself. Replace Hoot if you believe in the future of this city. I'd suggest that the others on council investigate their appointee's also.
