There is not anyone who really posts on this forum anymore. This used to a vibrant forum. I would suggest anyone go back several years and you will see a time when 10 to 15 people would be actively participating. Heavy Fed has ran everyone off. Now this forum is all Heavy, all the time. Even most of the people arguing with him are not real.

Please to be fooled.

No one posts anything that prompts a constructive response. If you can remember a forum on "Do you remember Old Pasadena". That forum really grew legs. We need those types of comments to respond to. Lets get it going gang.

There are the 5 people regularly posting here.

Heavy - 30%
MMIKN - 5%
Elaine - 10%
Texan - 20%
GOAT - 30%
Others 5%

Almost all of the posts come from these 5 people under various names. Yes, there are a few other posts once or twice a month from others. But these are 99% of posts.

When a subject is determined, the chatter of all other off-subject comments should be ignored. This way these people may go away.

I was a regular poster and still read this Forum every morning. But i honestly got tired of the constant bickering, name calling.... etc. It was fine when one or two threads went off the rails, actually it was entertaining. But when this happens to every thread, than this forum became worthless.

Another thing that irritates me to no end is the multiple alias. I have yet to understand this.

Anyone truly making inquiries on news or information is quickly ridiculed or beaten down with ignorant, trashy remarks or belittled. No wonder there are few legitimate posts. While i support everyones freedom of speech, a little courtesy and etiquite goes a long way. Hopefully, things will get better as LP needs some good sources of forums and news.

I still don't see you complainers posting anything here worthwhile yourselves.

Where are the sports discussions? The lawn and garden discussions? Home maintenance tips?

Don't come here to complain until you contribute something useful. On the other hand, I challenge you to fill up the board with new topics that attract a broad group of readers. Are you up to it?

Hahaha! Nice try. You're too lazy to post something fresh, so you want me to go look up all of my old posts, so you can continue to complain.

Either post something new or stop complaining.

nice try on worming out of showing where you posted about lawns and home maintenance tips. matter of fact that is the same ploy HEAVY uses to avoid answering a question.

Actually, there have been some interesting discussions. There was one we had about what one thing you wouldn't want to be without during a hurricane. A discussion recently about my great nephew being shaken by his moms boyfriend. A take off in the not guilty thread was a conversation about life support. Very often there are those of us having a discussion while others mill around and act stupid and hateful.
a nice discussion

ok here we go, a answer to the what you would not want to be without during a hurricane. a full tank of gas, and sense enough to get out of dodge early enough to avoid the traffic jams. ok there we go a nice discussion, lets see how long it is before the usual trolls show up.

Given our collective experiences during and after IKE, what would you, topix readers, do differently should we be under threat of another hurricane?

I personally, would wait before calling in expensive tree cutters, given that the county and other agencies came in and did so much of the work for free. I would make arrangements with my cell provider to increase my minutes for that month only, because two weeks of cell only telephone on my regular plan was EXPENSSSSIVE!

One of the most important things to do before a Hurricane is to organize your immediate neighbors. Find out their plans and establish a communication network. Find out what assets they have and what you can contribute to them after the storm. Where is everyone going and what their contacts are. This can be very important in the days following the storm.Yeh let's talk about these things, it's important.

I'm adding a propane fitting on one of my generators, will still run on gasoline. I WILL keep cold beer and grill steaks while sleeping in A/C!
I'd like to see more neighbors get a generator and window A/C as they have to come eat with me for a week or 2.
Hopefully this won't be as busy hurricane season as they had predicted...

what would be the one thing you would not want to be without apart from the usual necessities? for me it would be coffee, chocolate, and squirt cheeze in a can. ok three things.
