Has anyone heard about the shuffling of principals in LPISD. What is the point of this? I have heard that at LXE we are loosing both our principal and the AP.

I have heard that, too. Rumor is that Stephanie will go to the high school, and Mr. Clyde is going to LPJH. Another rumor is that Mac is going to the high school while Mrs. Anderson (Chism) is going to LPJH. I don't know why they do this. I believe they don't want anyone to get too comfortable at their school because they make friends and can't be impartial.

I am very bothered by the idea of Mrs. Gentile being transfered from LXE. She has worked so hard and done so much for our kids. All the budget cuts are bad enough, why would you move principals around? Our kids know and love Mrs. Gentile and they need stability in their elementary years. With how well the school has been preforming why in the world would they want to change anything.

I remember the Bayshore Sun quoting Lloyd Grahm saying that the reason they shuffle the principals around is because they want them to gain experience and the breadth of how the entire educational system works, not just in their one school. I wish I had the article to cite it, but the The Sun's website is shut down now.

I honestly think this is a terrible idea because the faculty, staff and parents can't ever form a good working relationship with the prinicpal, making the entire educational system less personal.

I'm not crazy about losing both both the principal and the assistant principal at LXE. That is a huge change for all the kids and teachers. I know other schools would be lucky to get Gentile but I'd like to keep her at LXE.

The problem with moving the principals is that it disrupts the relationship between school and home, and everyone knows that a childs education is a team effort. As a parent I feel comfortable and confident with our principal and staff, we have a good working relationshp. I am very proud to be involved in my childs education but I have not always felt my involvment was as welcome as Mrs. Gentile has made me feel. This will not benefit anyone and I do not want my childs education to suffer because of LPISD politics. Why are we the parents the last to know? Don't we have the right to know about changes like this. These are our kids being affected our opinions should count so lets try to put a stop to this contact you board of trustees and let them know how you feel.

Mrs. Gentile should get to keep her job, she loves working with students and works very hard to ensure that they have the best education. It isn't fair that just because the school is suffering from budget cuts that dedicated employees should loose their jobs. I'm sure there are many other areas that could be cut before the important position of a skilled principal. Would the school honestly rather have an inexperienced principal over cutting the extra curricular activities slightly? The principal is the head of the school, the heart of the school, and without a good one the school will fall apart! So, I think that LPISD should keep Mrs. Gentile!

Mrs. Gentile SHOULD continue to be principal at Lomax Elementary. She is a wonderful pricipal and person who genuinely cares for every single student and teacher at that campus. She simply "does what is best for KIDS", UNLIKE the superindendent, who appears to do what is best for ADULTS. It is mind boggling how a campus that is continuously rated exemplary AND RECIEVED THE TEXAS BLUE RIBBION SCHOOLS AWARD nomination among numerous other awards is being made to loose the principal of the campus she has worked so very hard to build. What will happen when Lomax recieves that honored award and she is not there to accept it?? It is The children and teachers that are going to suffer. What is the mission statement of LPISD every students' success is #1 priority??? Not for some obviously!Something must be done to put a stop to this insanity that is going on in that administration building.

Mrs. Gentile has a job. She is being moved to another elementary school within the district. Not let go.

No one said that the other principals were not good but she and her staff will be a blue ribbon school and they are taking her away from that honor by moving her to another campus. That makes no sense.

So, I assume my daughter's Principal at Jennie Reid is moving also? What's going on in La Porte??? Why the shuffle?

Mr. Eubank has been an excellent Principal. When I went into his office this year he listened to what I had to say & took it to heart... Immediately!!! She was having trouble with another student. He said, "I understand your concern & we need to do what's best for your daughter". You can tell he cares about the kids at JRE!!! Dan Eubank is like a FATHER to those kids. I'm proud to say all of my kids have gone there while he's been Principal, VERY PROUD!

Are we back in the Hemlinger days or what???
Parents need to rally together & get Lloyd Graham out of LP!!!!!!!!!! He is RUINING this district that Dr. Say got back on track!

From what I've heard from people, he is a male chauvinist & a BULLY!!!!!!!!!! What about morale? Heard it's at an all-time low!!!!!!!

I am sure that the parents at LXE are not the only ones who do not want to see their principal moved to another school. It just does not make sense to make these changes in our schools. I have no doubt that all the principals in LPISD are wonderful at what they do my question is why fix something that is not broken. Sometimes change is not a good thing!

I guess all the rumors are true-There are job openings for a principal at Baker and one for assistant principal at LPJH.

Moving people for the sake of moving people does not make sense. I can understand not wanting a principal to get so embedded in a school that problems fester, and progress is stopped. However, I can't think of any LPISD elementary principal that has been in their position for 10+ years. Stability brings experience, and when you have solid well rated schools why would you introduce turmoil? If these principal's are being shuffled into positions that are genuine career forward moves that is excellent. Several of them merit advancement and recognition of their talents. BUT - If they are being moved so they clean someone else's mess, or worse make a mess somewhere else shame on the superintendent and the trustees.

There are many postings here related to LXE - that is a testament to the fact that Mrs. Gentile encourages parent involvement. LXE has a long tradition of parent involvement and volunteerism. I personally can not imagine starting a new year with two new administrators. They will have very large shoes to fill.

Of course if we have a new principal they will get support. FYI....we've only had Mrs. Gentile in that role for 3 years. Over four years we've had four different asst. principal's - one of those lasting less than six weeks before she was moved. We're asking for some stability. How are real problems to be addressed if by the time the problems are studied and understood you pull people out?. So yes, we will support whoever is there - but going through that transition is a big bump on the road of excellence. I pray it isn't a bump that knocks us of the road - our children don't deserve confusion or instability of change for the sake of change.

All principals are moving. There will be a press release on Tuesday announcing all the moves. It's a done deal folks. Gentile is moving to Bayshore Elementary. This is ridiculous. Graham is the worst thing to ever happen to this district and I wish the parents WOULD rally together and put pressure on the board to have him removed.
