I heard it also. I am not sure if it is true though because I would think there would be some sort of media coverage.

THe LPISD website shows that Larry Cox resigned today for personal reasons. I believe the media will cover this in the paper tomorrow and the local news tonight.

I have contacted Channel 11 news and they are investigating to see if there is any truth to these rumors.

Isn't he also a teacher in the district?

He was a coach, perhaps a principal(?). He is now retired, but coached and taught for a long time. He seemed very ill prepared and lacking in knowledge as a trustee.

Well WEll and most of you people are worried about the bus coming to town theres no room in laporte foran outsider to cause mischif hell yall have it from thiefs from kids from hoa to this maybe yall should of had buses long ago atleast you could blame someone else for it i think yall need some prof help there maybe its in the water just saying.

This is VERY disturbing news, if true. I am choosing to hold off on any accusations until I hear if the allegations hold any water. I hope it isn't true.

I did hear a clarification, which is that evidence was taken from the residence of this trustee, who has resigned. No charges yet, as far as I know.

Can you quantify your clarification? This is the sort of "rumor", if that is what it is, that destroys the lives of innocent people. On the other hand, if true, a person that is guilty of something like this deserves all of the venom a community can muster. Especially an elected official put in the position of caring for LP's children.

LPISD website has notice of special called meeting of the board scheduled for jan 11, to discuss this resignation. Notice was issued today at 2:30

When I hear news like this, I am hardly ever shocked. This time, I am shocked to the point of disbelief. I have been acquainted with this person for over 20 years. I can't help but hope that this is some kind of huge misunderstanding. I have always admired this man and have found him to be an incredibly kind person.

It these rumors are proven to be true (and I hope not); I pray for him and his family.

If this is correct, it is truly unbelievable. This person sincerely loved his job and the people and students he worked with. He always went the extra mile in helping the teachers and parents he was associated with. I just hope this is a huge mistake.
