Earlier I was reading about a high profile LP football player who 'allegedly'' got caught with a couple of other kids who were smoking pot....ON CAMPUS!!! Some were mad it got posted, others were upset it may ruin his chance for a college scholarship. Why were some kids removed from campus but not all of them?? Why shouldn't all of the kids caught up in this get treated the same? None should get special treatment, no matter who they are. In the wrong place at the wrong time? Maybe, but he should still pay the consequences. So what if recruiters read it...they have the right to know what their prospects are all about, not just their stats on the field. That's how lessons are learned...by suffering the consequences of your actions!!!

Well now that the "high profile LP football player" has been ruined by being talked about on Topix, what about the "couple of other kids" that were also allegedly caught smoking pot "on CAMPUS" not talked about?

Losing a (maybe) college scholarship is no big deal. Neither is not playing college ball. He'll just have to live an ordinary life like the rest of us.

Apparently they were punished by being removed from campus?? Hopefully they learned their lesskn so they can have a bright future as well. My point was they should not have been the only ones punished

His life may even turn out better... not focused on sports.

Sometimes what we want the most... is not the best thing for us, God knows this.

Texas Judge Forces Topix To Unveil Info About Anonymous Commenters
Topix, the online news aggregation and local community site, has apparently been told by a judge to cough up identifying information on 178 formerly anonymous commenters on the site. The details are still a little unclear from the article linked here -- but it looks like the commenters were discussing a sexual harassment case that was happening in Texas. In that case, the defendants were found not guilty, but apparently the online comments on Topix got somewhat nasty. So the couple, fresh off being acquitted of sexual assault charges, sued 178 different anonymous commenters -- and the judge seemed to have no problem ordering Topix to turn over any identifying information it had on those commenters.
Sure hope everyone posting on this thread and the other thread know what they are doing.
