I have a 6 month old boy reddish blond dachshund to give away if anyone's interested. He's had no shots, very playful, doesn't bite, and isn't potty trained. Needs a family that can give him more attention than we can or a playmate. We have no children and work all day, so it's not fair to him that we leave him all the time.

1 This reminds me of this from Craigslist: I wanted a pet, so I got one. But I am tired of taking care of it, and paying for it. I might even be moving, in which case I would have to pay a pet deposit or spend an extra 30 seconds planning how to take along my pet. Maybe I decided to have a baby or get a boyfriend (or girlfriend). Anyhow, I don't want my pet anymore. Oh wait, that sounds every bit as selfish as I am. I mean, I can't keep my pet. Yeah, that's it. Oh allergies- YES, I suddenly got allergies. No one will question that. Now about my pet. I've had it since it was a kitten (or pup, or egg if reptilian) and now it's middle aged, the age NO ONE wants to adopt, but didn't you see- I need someone to take care of it. Anyhow, since this process will be very upsetting for my formerly precious pet (and because I may feel an inkling of guilt) I want the adopter to give it a home where there are no other pets, so it doesn't have to share your affections (even though I've been ignoring it for months). Now let me tell you how sweet, lovable, and darling he/she is. Also, allow me to fail to mention that he/she has a urination issue when scared, or he/she eat sofas, etc. Oh, and I think you should pay a fee to show you're capable of buying cat food. And plus I spent money on it 8 years ago and heck I can get a few boxes of diapers for the baby with that cash. Besides, everyone knows that you can tell a person who's taking your pet to be a test lab subject by whether or not they'll shell out $50. If my pet is purebred, I will likely try to charge you hundreds. Because I spend hundreds and this is a very valuable pet. I just don't want it anymore. But YOU should want it enough to help me recoup my original purchase price. Now, I hope you'll take it right to the vet, because he/she is behind on shots. And was never spayed/neutered. And make sure it gets premium food and all the things it deserves, but I am too selfish to even continue to care for it. And remember, this is a commitment- you better not take it and then change your mind ever because only I can do that. Now that I dumped him/her on you, he/she is too traumatized to ever face that again. Last of all, I will now close by telling you that I need this person who takes over my responsibility to come along quickly, because otherwise I *may* have to take him/her to the pound. I probably won't, but that threat is sure to scare someone into hurrying up and taking over my responsibility. |

Please person....don't mess this up, you don't know the circumstances here so STFU |

Well aren't the arrogant bastard... In the 1st place he was a gift from one of our grand children who thought we should have a dog. We could hardly have refused their gesture as it was so sweet and benevolent and there was nowhere else the pupy could have gone at the time. We have given the pup a very good home since he came to live with us. Unfortunately we haven't the time required to properly care for him. We are seeking a loving home for him to go to (you a-hole). We haven't threatened or neglected the little guy in any way. We simply want him to have a better life. So next time you want to judge somebody for making a good decision, you should be better informed (Prick) |

We have a beautiful male dachshund, red short hair, approximately 6-7 months old, very healthy, very playful, very affectionate with a perfect temperment. He needs a new family as we are unable to provide the time he deserves and needs so much. He is extremely intelligent and fun. He loves both children and adults. He needs to be in a home where he will have playmates other than his toys.
If you are interested in his welfare, please contact me asap. |

Sorry... I meant aren't "YOU" the arrogant bastard! Your Post sounds exactly like something our HF Animal Activist would write! |

I've really lost a lot of respect for you in the last week or so. Those puppies sure are cute when they are little but when left in the backyard with little to no attention they can become quite the nucisance, huh? Not potty trained after six months is a sure sign of a neglected dog or an ingnorant owner, so which is it? |
||||
Have you ever stopped to think that he might be right? |
||||
First of all, how could you possibly know how the dog is housed? Second, who ever said potty training a dog is a necessary step in raising a healthy and good natured pet? Dogs were not evolved to live in houses or enclosed shelters. We have adopted pets in different situations where we were very capable of caring for them. This situation is unique as we are busy professionals who haven't a lot of time for anything else other than occasional visits with family and friends. So it is very important to us that the pup have a good home. Your critisism is totally out of line. Besides, would you rather us take him to a shelter? We certainly would never do that. He is very well kept and we would never subject him to harm, as if he were our child. So carry your unbased rants somewhere else because we are still extending the invitation to adopt this sweet little pet. P.S.... If this is who I think it is, you have a lot of nerve after telling us some things about yourself, that you have lost a lot of respect. People... we are very serious about re-homing this great puppy... so if you are seriously seeking a good companion, let us know. |

Okay "BlunderingWendy"... How does our invitation even resemble that wretched CL ad? STFU numbskull! |

It's so sad you define a good home and a good decision as one in which the puppy is neglected from veterinary care and attention. |
||||
1. No shots 2. Not neutered 3. Threatening to give it to a shelter 4. Dumping your responsibility on someone else 5. Lack of attention towards your pet 6. Urination issues You could have written that post. |
||||
Let me say to you that if you really know me and have lost respect for me then you should really know that I could give a rats a$$ what you think of me. I am who I am and have never tried to put on that I'm anything or anyone else. I'm just trying to get my dog a BETTER home than what he has now. If you're interested then let me know...enough of the bull$hit and grow up. |
||||
We want better for the dog than we can give him....that's why we are giving him away. Why can't anyone understand that? |

Why can't you understand... the time to find a home for an animal that you are incapable of properly caring for... is before they become attached to you... and before they grow up? Not after the "problem" becomes so bad that you can no longer tolerate it. You would not be so quick to adopt out a problem child would you? Animals... just like people... have feelings. |

I don't have much... and I have even less room... but if you can't find him a home... I'll take him.
You can bet I'll have him potty trained in a day or two... and SOMEHOW... I will get him to the vet. |
|||
|
Guess what...all you do gooders have just screwed up a chance for this dog to have a better home. I'll keep him and continue to let him live the way he is now. Hope this makes all you feel better. You all could have chipped in to help me find a better place for him, but instead you want to attack me for trying to better him. Well now who's to blame for his living conditions?
