The worst fears of Republicans is coming true.

Obamacare is actually affordable to young people and those that work at jobs that don't provide healthcare, including small business workers.

Ted Cruz said to vote for the continuing resolution without the defunding Obamacare resolution is a vote FOR Obamacare. Then he votes for it.

Cruz voted FOR Obamacare. after a 21 hour fake filibuster. Ted Cruz...what a piece of work...What a national joke - Like Stockman.

Republicans...go figure?????????

Why did they only publish the prices of a 27-year-old?

Obamacare is affordable if you are 27 and healthy. Of course, then you have to pay for something you don't need or use. So that is just theft. If you are ever 30 and have kids then it is WAY over the cost of private insurance. Mr. Goebbels would be envious.

You misrepresented what Cruz said and did. He did not vote for Obamacare. You are lying. He voted for the budget plan that excludes funding for Obamacare. Reid and his thugs "will" change it to add Obamacare back in. You are a lying liar.

Get ready for Cruz to take back the Whitehouse and turn the country upside down. Close the EPA, and DOE, end the wars, Restructure the tax code and UPHOLD the constitution. You fascists will be squeeling!

So... what are they going to do with all the poor people who can't afford insurance?

Are they just going to give it to them... or lock them up?

Who is going to pay for that?

And if they are just going to give insurance to all the poor people... what is the incentive not to be poor?

Sounds like a good deal.

Quit your job... get free insurance, qualify for food stamps... and get a free Obamaphone.

Again... who is going to pay for this?

So... let me get this straight, all the poor people get free insurance, all the rich people get waivers... and the middle class gets to pay for their insurance and all the people who can't afford it?

Another question, all these people with these Obamaphones... are they who they call whenever Obama wants to do one of those polls that seem absurdly high or disconnected from reality?

Is that one of the requirements to get one of those phones?

You've got to agree to be on a list and participate in polls?

That's freakin brilliant!

Who thought of that?

On another note. Many headlines that ran yesterday said "Obamacare Premium Rates Lower Than Expected". This has tricked many into believing that the rates will be lower than current rates, but that is incorrect.

The last estimate of the rates was 16% higher than what was published yesterday, but that is not comparing them to current rates. Just the previous estimate by the congressional budget office for Obamacare.

here is a good calculator to figure out your cost

http://www.npr.org/blogs/health/2013/09/26/22...

Right now i pay $782 a month for my family and have pretty good coverage. This is not through my employer.
Under obamacare, i will pay $1237.50 a month for the Bronze plan (which is very low coverage). I do not qualify for any subsidies and will have to pay a 50% tobacco fee because i smoke.

If you smoke, in my perfect world, you wouldn't be allowed to get Obamacare...but wait...you are allowed because under Obamacare, insurance companies can't turn you down for preconditions, which, in your case because you smoke and most likely expose your entire family to your unhealthy polluting addiction, are one step away from lung cancer as is your family.

By the way, this health insurance is provided by private insurance companies, not the government. The Federal Government is only acting as a broker in the deal.

What we really needed was single payer insurance, but the bought and paid for Republicans by the private health care industry wouldn't let that happen.

Have another smoke WMTB.

Why are you so jealous of Obamaphones? Want to trade places with a person who qualifies for one?

One good part of obamacare is the pre-existing condition clause. Another good thing is providers being able to cross state lines. There is some good in the law, but it is greatly overshadowed by the bad.

You are correct that this is private insurance brokered by the Federal Goverment, but there broker fee appears to be 70% of the cost of the actual insurance. I was reading this morning and under the Bronze plan i will have an 8k deductible! Not only do my insurance cost double, but my deductibe is going up by 400%. The only way i will be able to us this insurance is if i do get lung cancer.

Not sure what you are talking about with obamaphones?

I guess smoking is out of the question for a person to get insurance, but smoking CRACK is OK and you won't have to pay the 50% increase in rates!
Who the hell is paying the private insurance companies? The Middle class working people, not the indigent that don't/can't work.
Since cigarette smokers get penalized, drug test EVERYONE who gets the insurance as illegal drugs cost hospitals MILLIONS!

Go get a job goat and quit waiting for the Federal Government to take care of you at MY expense.

LOL

All the illegal drugs combined don't cost hospitals anywhere near what cigarettes do.

Why would he care if they did?

So far... Americans as a whole do not... unless they are broke and uninsurable already.

The point is... more Americans will be broke because of it.

No one is going to want to work if all of their extra money is going to pay for insurance that they would get for free if they were broke.

It's just going to encourage more Americans to quit trying.

He did compare forcing people to buy health insurance to the threat of Nazi's in 1940. That makes him a buffoon.
