Last night we had some vehicles broken into here in Shady River Subdivision. Our golf cart was also stolen. If anyone knows any information please call the LPPD. Just a shame as it's such a wonderful community.

Shady River is a long way from Lomax! LOL! I don't go south(east) of 146 very often either since they closed the Sears Hardware Store!(and now add the M&M lumber company)

You're exactly right! Never had any business to take care of on that side of town.

Back to the topic here, we all need to get out and meet our neighbors and work together. Everyone on my block knows who and what belongs and doesn't belong. If something is askew at my place while I'm away, my phone rings with my neighbor asking if this person belongs. We watch out for each other. I say "Support your local vigilance committee." Once perps get the message that they will receive serious bodily harm for coveting someone elses belongings, that crap will stop. God Bless Joe Horn!

That's very true and maybe the cold weather has been keeping people inside. Now that warmer weather is coming around hopfully that will change.

Just from what I see in my neighborhood, once people get home, pull into their garage, close their garage door, that's it. They don't see or hear anything because they're now eating dinner or relaxing which takes place towards the back of their house. Not the front, where they would be able to look out their front windows (if they had them) and have a clue as to who was coming or going.

He's the guy in Pasadena that shot (and killed 1 of 2)burgulars breaking into his next door neighbors house. He was talking to the police on his phone while watching them and they told him it would be awhile before they could send a patrol car so he got his shotgun out! He was not guilty of anything but ACTIVIST taunting him.
He's my HERO! and better that ADT!

Thanks for the answer. I remember that now.

You're right! I would have done the same thing and expect that my neighbor would do the same thing if it was reversed!

I say we should convince Joe Horn to move to LaPorte and run for office.....Perhaps he would make a good mayor or police chief. He would have my vote.

Bayres,
The neighborhood association meeting for Shady River is this Thursday at 6:30 p.m. If you have a chance, you should consider coming to it if possible.
