One man's freedom fighter is another man's terrorist. Mandela was a terrorist. And hopefully when he gets to Hades, he will tell Ted Kennedy we all said hello and he will congratulate him on his four-years of sobriety.

He took a thriving beautiful country with a robust economy and turned into a 3rd world dump. You should all read more about South Africas history in the last 20 years.

Blacks had no rights in South Africa until Nelson Mandela lead a new government. Change is hard. But he set that country on a new path.

Blacks did not occupy South Africa until after Whites settled it. Foreigners have no rights in every country except the US. They invaded, then revolted, then slaughtered the whites who would not give up their lands.

You should read a book.

The aboriginal Khoikhoi occupied the region now known as South Africa long before the Dutch and British showed up to exploit the riches of their land.

They are nothing more than savages:

The country has some of the highest incidences of child and baby rape in the world with more than 67,000 cases of rape and sexual assaults against children reported in 2000, with welfare groups believing that unreported incidents could be up to 10 times higher.[118] In 2001, a 9-month-old was raped and likely lost consciousness as the pain was too much to bear.[119] Another 9-month-old baby was raped by six men, aged between 24 and 66, after the infant had been left unattended by her teenage mother. A 4-year-old girl died after being raped by her father. A 14-month-old girl was raped by her two uncles. In February 2002, an 8-month-old infant was reportedly gang raped by four men. One has been charged. The infant has required extensive reconstructive surgery. The 8-month-old infant's injuries were so extensive, increased attention on prosecution has occurred.

Yes, Mandela created a great society.

You would never know the prior statistics from the apartheid regime. Blacks were not counted as citizens. So it is hard to make the argument that Mandela created the current crime problem. He gave all people equal rights. The rest is up to the people.

Here you go. Read it an weep.

Shortly after the death of South African revolutionary Nelson Mandela, the South African Communist Party and the African National Congress both released official statements acknowledging what was already well-known among experts:ďComradeĒ Mandela was indeed a Communist Party leader who served on the Soviet-backed organizationís Central Committee. According to the Communist Party statement on Mandelaís passing, not only was the confessed terror leader a senior official on the South African Communist Partyís highest decision-making body, he was actually close to the outfit until his death.

Better yet read its history before the end of apartheid. It was a beautiful country if you were white and bearable if Asian but a sh-thole if you were black.

Yes Elaine I am calling you a racist. I bet you think the slave states were beautiful places before the war destroyed their wonderful way of life.

South Africa has a thriving economy compared to the rest of Africa and alot of the rest of the world. Considering all the evils of apartheid it is amazing it functions at all.

I know you believe in minority rule(rich over the rest of us). To defend apartheid makes you part of a small group of the worst kind of people.

Never heard of the Zulu either?

Where do you get your books Elaine? I thought they closed the Klan's bookstore years ago.

It is only a fact if it fits Elaine's racist viewpoint. She is unable to see past her own prejudices and apply reason. She could have kept her bile to herself ,but she is so filled with hate, she had to bring her racism even here.

The man helped bring an end to apartheid. Government sanctioned and enforced laws designed to keep the white invaders in power. Until Mandela's govt. in 1994 blacks had no vote and had to live in areas designated for coloreds. He was a man of courage who spent a third of his life in prison because of his commitment to change.

Sounds as if Elaine has developed a slanted racist view based on reading a book written by an author with a slanted view.
