I will tell you like i tell my kids BEING A BULLY ON A KEYBOARD IS THE SAME AS BEING A BULLY IN REAL LIFE....(renetx3) this is so very true and this site is loaded with CYBER BULLIES.. They are very mean, cruel and hurtful they don't care about anything but causing stress and anger in the people who try to use this site for the good of each other. They do this because they don't use their real names and can be as ugly as they desire.
Their day of jugment will come and in the mean time KARMA will get them. Best of luck to you and your family.

My older brother was sent to boot camp at 16 for the same issues , and my patents never blamed anyone they did something about it. Now if that's being a bully I am sorry. Lmao topix god no, but I would not get on here for something like that . By the way what do you expect the police to do, take him to county where he will get the crap beat out of him get raped and who knows what else?

I have worked at the high school and have seen some pretty scary teens there. If your student attends LPHS, get in touch with his counselor and ask about the PASS program. Perhaps they might be able to answer some of your questions. DeWalt has an awesome counselor also. She might be able to give you advice or refer you to someone as to what your next step should be. As I had mentioned in an earlier post, we had to have my sister (with a mental illness) committed. It's not simply a matter of calling the white coats and picking the person up and shipping them off. The psych wards in Houston will keep the person (the adults)for 2 weeks at the most, give them medication and give them $ for a bus ticket to Purple Heart Mission. Most of the people on the streets in downtown Houston have mental issues. I am not sure how they deal with the teens. I would say be very persistant in having your son committed for a longer time before he kills someone. Sounds like Rusk might be the answer, its just how do you get him there? Ignore the jerks on Topix who are so critical. As for the jerks, we dont know if this story is fabricated or not, but what she has said on this post happens to people every day. Heavy Fed, at least 65% of the homes in this day and time are single parent homes and in most of these homes the mother is the main caregiver. I hope things turn around for you and your family.

Looking at all of the replies, it seems you have these options:
Have him committed
Military school
Continue until he kills someone.

It's your choice. Now do something about it today. Not tomorrow.

At one time we had similar problems with my oldest daughter. If you haven't been there you don't know what it is like. Everyone makes suggestions here , but trust me it is not that easy.
It is true that you get very little help from law enforcement. Your child can beat the hell out of a sibling and the police will act as if their hands are tied. But if your kid talks smart to the cop while he is there they will probably taze him.

It is not easy to get someone commited.Don't even respond unless you have tried. We had very good insurance on my daughter and still could not get anyone to take her in.Finally one night after being picked up by the police she put a belt around her neck and threatened to injure herself. We seized the opportunity to finally get some help.On admission to the mental health facility she was diagnosed as severely depressed and psychosis. Within 24 hours the insurance company said "Does she still have the belt around her neck? No? Well then she is no longer a threat to herself or others. We will only pay for 2 days stay." At that point the same doctor that told us how very sick our child was and needed help changed the diagnosis to " defiant disorder " and kicked her to the curb.

Someone mentioned boot camp.... the court has to order boot camp. Military school? good luck finding one. Any place in Texas can not hold the kid against their will and the cheapest place we found out of state started at about $40,000/yr.

Again I tell you if you haven't been through it or have first hand expierience with this type situation then you you should limit your comments to," I am so sorry for you. Good luck and God bless."

I totally agree with everything you have said. My sister is (was) an adult, without insurance. Its sad that people without insurance are able to get help easier than people with insurance when it comes to mental health issues. With her we had to go to the MHMR and they had an office in Baytown at the time. Even so, the hospitals will only keep a person till they are "stable" and a maximum of two weeks. Mental illness is a nightmare not only for the person who has it, but the family that has to endure it. I hurt for and love my sister, but can't even phantom how much pain you and the other person are going through with the ill person being your child.

Well, listen to this... and take it seriously and think about it... don't just dismiss what I am going to say.

Trying giving him a little marijuana.

Don't let him smoke it... make a small batch of brownies.

If he is not having problems in school... don't give it to him until he gets home, if that is where his issues are.

I've never seen anyone use just Marijuana and be violent.

It should take all of his aggressiveness right out of him... mellow him out and make him a lot easier to get along with.

If you are desperate... and have tried everything else... why not?

It could not make things worse... right?

I think you'll be surprised how well it works.

I think I've told you before... I don't buy OR sell Marijuana.

To me... it is a Holy sacrament and it's a sin to buy or sell it.

My life has been full of problems... I was a problemed child with anger issues.

However, I never used any kind of drugs until I was in my late 20's.

I started out using opiates and hallucinogens... got hooked on cocaine for a couple years really bad.

Then... the last thing I tried was Marijuana.

It put my mind at ease... slowed my thinking down enough to where I actually had the attention span to write again.

I don't even have the desire to use any other kind of drug anymore... I don't drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes.

The Tree of Life is my savior.

If it were not for Marijuana... I'm sure I would have gone right off that cliff I was headed toward when I was younger.

Played golf with a judge yesterday and I asked him and he confirmed what I knew already: I am Right!

This is a bs thread up and down. And as far as Heavy's advice, I wouldn't head that advice unless you wanted to end up under the jail.

It amuses me the silly problems the working class folks deal with.

Don't be stupid lady, call the cops, and it might help if you stopped wasting your money on alcohol and lottery tickets and put him in therapy. I know you don't know better, I am only trying to help.

What do you not understand? If a person commits a crime they should be punished right? My son is commiting a crime and my punishments do phase him, so he needs to be arrested for assaulting us. He would not go to county duh...hes a minor. He would be taken to juvi where the other minors who have commited crimes go. But well maybe your right we should wait to have the police get involved when hes 18 and commiting crimes on the public, instead of stopping him while hes young. And boot camp is for the super rich who can afford the monthly tuition that is more than my mortgage, or for the super poor who qualifies for financial aid. For us in the middle we ask our community on Topix or anywhere we feel could help for some ideas for help, or to vent. If you dont like it, dont read it, move on. Dont worry about it, remember its my problem not the police not the courts and NOT YOURS. And since i dont know what to do, and my child is out of control, and how dare i post for help, lets just hope u meet my son in passing and u piss him off, cause he will attack. Bet you would call the cops huh?

You wanna know something funny Heavy, your not the first person who has suggested this. If it were legal i would absolutly try it. But sadly its only legal to give your kids many kinds of man made pills prescribed by doctors with warning labels that say side effects are: may cause drowsiness, liver or kidney disease, thoughts of suicide, rash stroke and some deaths have been reported.
????

What a messed up system. If it were legal i swear i would not give another pharmasutical company a dime! I would much rather grow a
Natural earth grown medication if it worked for him.

The ac is great... it's making me fat and lazy.

Maybe I should say... fatter and lazier?

You're right, I just rent this place... it makes it harder for the City to attack me.

They have been issuing tickets to my landlord... just trying to cause me problems.

Jokes on them though, I expected them to do just that... they are actually helping me.

If you can predict what someone is going to do... you can set things up to take advantage of their actions.

Do you know how much it costs me to live here every month after bills and rent?

I actually make about $200 a month!

The police will not solve your problems with your child.

They may temporarily solve them by taking him away and locking him up... but they won't help him, they will just add to his problems.

What have you got to lose?

It sounds to me like you are already losing your son... and he is endangering the rest of your family.

He does not have to know about it... in fact it's probably best if he didn't... he won't go telling his friends he's using Marijuana.

There are all kinds of good recipies online for Marijuana brownies.

You can make all kinds of food with it... even candies.

Don't talk about it here anymore... and don't tell anyone else.

Just get a little and try it.

A half ounce of Mexican schwag will run about $30... or you can get an 1/8 of quality weed for $60.

I'm sure it'll cost less then any meds he's on now... and it won't screw up his mind and body like all those pharmaceuticals do.

I'd take him off pills altogether.
