But I don't know that.

Oh they don't bother me at all!!!
They motivate me!!!
I told them from the beginning, four years ago... the worst thing they could do was tell me that I could not do or challenge me on something.
See, if no one had said a single cross word to me here... or if no one had ever called me a liar or said I could not do something... I probably would have left long ago.
See, opposition turns me on... I figure... if someone wants to fight me on something... and I know I am right and it's something I want to do... I'll go to the end of the Earth to defeat that person or those people.
I'm not sure where I got that drive.
I think it was a Sixth Grade Social Studies teacher that told me there was no such thing as original thought and that I should not waste my time in search of it... I think it was she that sparked the rebel in me.
See... I used to just sit at my desk and doodle all day, drawing and using my imagination trying to think of new ideas.
She wanted me to do class work... and wanted to quash all of that imagination in me.
I stewed about it for several days, then told her I thought she was full of it... and that I knew that was not an original thought.
She sent me to the Principals office, but he was a cool hippie guy.
I was kind of a hippie kid.
He said, "As your Principal I have to discipline you for speaking that way to your teacher, so I'm going to have to give you pops."
He closed the door... then told me .. he thought it was funny and that he agreed with me.
He took out his paddle, told me to cry out... and then preceded to paddle the seat of the chair.
"Owww... Owww...Owww" I said.
I like the way you think. I got fake pops once, too. It was because I got in a fight. I look back now and feel really sad because I think the reason I got the fake pops is because the other kid was black. That makes me feel horrible. I hear he has passed away. I wish he hasn't because I wish I could apologize. I graduated very high in my class but had my fair share of issues! I dont really care for conflict but care less for other people's rights being trampled. i have always had an overactive sense if justice. I do believe in people thinking their own way. In general school is more difficult for boys because they aren't put together to sit around quietly all day. People learn different ways. I dont know how it could work that education would be learning the stuff you need to know but also learning to do your best in a way that encourages who each person is. Anyway, i hope you are in a place where you can do what you need to how you need to now.
